Unwelcoming Service and Poor Hospitality:
We arrived at this restaurant at 6pm as a party of two and were told there would be an hour wait, which we were fine with. To pass the time, we decided to get drinks at the bar, but the experience there was disappointing from the start.
Despite the bar not being overly crowded, the bartenders avoided eye contact and did not acknowledge us. After 20 minutes of trying to order, we were finally served, but the interaction was rushed and impersonal. We don’t need a conversation, but there was no greeting or basic hospitality.
The restaurant also states that bar tables are for seating only, yet we watched as a walk-in customer was immediately accommodated while others, including us, continued to wait…for any sort of greeting from the bartenders. It was unclear why certain guests received preferential treatment. Oh, it’s because we were not locals!
After waiting the full hour, we received a message that our table would take an additional 10 more minutes. However, after one hour and 30 additional minutes passed, we checked in with the hostess, who responded in an abrupt and dismissive manner. While we understood they were busy, the lack of courtesy or basic kindness was surprising. Not friendly at all. No one was being rude to you, but why did we get an attitude for simply asking the status of our table when it was 30 mins past the wait time.
The location offers a nice sunset view, but the service and hospitality left much to be desired. If you’re looking for a place that treats all guests with equal respect, there are better options, such as Nico’s, where both locals and visitors are...
Read moreWe came here straight from the airport—suitcases in the trunk, travel sweat still clinging to our souls—and Restaurant 604 was exactly the warm Hawaiian welcome we needed. I trusted the good reviews, and I’m glad I did. The vibe? Relaxed and breezy with a decent ocean view that screams, “You made it.” The food? So good we were nearly speechless (which says a lot for this group).
We had: • Ahi Katsu – Panko-crusted perfection. I don’t know who thought to mix mango-wasabi-teri sauce with furikake rice, but I want to thank them personally. • Fish Tacos – Spiced just right, with guac and chipotle sour cream that made me consider moving here permanently. • Fish & Chips – Crispy, flavorful, and came with the best pineapple slaw I’ve ever had. Like… I never thought I’d rave about slaw, but here we are.
Also, the portions were legit. No sad, overpriced bites here—you actually get fed.
Bonus: Our server was a total gem and casually mentioned he spars with Max Holloway. Like, sorry what?? UFC fans, this is your cue to nerd out. The service was awesome all around, but if you’re lucky enough to get the MMA server, tip him well—he could probably triangle choke you (just kidding…)
Drinks? My friends loved them, especially the Bloody Mary. I didn’t try it (team jet lag + hydration), but their faces said “vacation mode activated.”
Highly recommend hitting this spot if you’re flying in hungry and want to start your Hawaii trip right. Great food, even better people, and a vibe that’ll have you forgetting your flight...
Read moreThis was my second time visiting this restaurant, and to be honest, the second time was totally by mistake. I didn't know that this golf course location was even affiliated with the other location. I had intended to order from the Arizona-Memorial location and didn't notice that I had ordered from the golf course spot. What a difference in everything. I feel like the two locales are run by completely different organizations, because it's simply night and day. I would love for the kitchens and staff of both locations to SWITCH for a day. What you see in the picture I provided was the paltry amount of spaghetti that came with the meal. The meal was for my wife. I called it in and simply ordered spaghetti with meat sauce, a bowl of tomato basil soup, garlic bread and a side salad. When she opened her entree, she immediately asked "is this a kid's plate?". When I saw it, I thought "what adult person would serve this to another?" That is, unless it is the last of the spaghetti period. I just couldn't believe it. So, of course my night was ruined. I had an upset wife to assuage the rest of the night, and trust me, she holds a grudge. So, now, all I can do is verify that I am NOT ordering from the golf course location ever again. I've been disappointed by restaurants before (our first experience at the golf course locale was so underwhelming I chose not to write about it because I had nothing good to say), but this experience was most unfortunate. I do not recommend this...
