First thing... the chicken: Those rotisserie chickens are a big deal Costco sells 60 million rotisserie chickens every year at $4.99 each. They are not a moneymaker for the company. In fact, poultry costs have skyrocketed over the last couple of years and "there's very little margin on it right now," chief financial officer Richard Galanti said last year. Yet Costco continues to keep the price at $4.99. Why? Because those chickens are a big draw for customers searching for a quick dinner. The chickens are widely praised, and they even have their own Facebook page. "You can't really beat the convenience of the Costco chickens when you're already there loading up on Charmin and gigantic blocks of Cheddar," wrote one commenter on Chowhound. "Economical as hell, which is no small consideration in this day and age." They also have a bucho of other foods that are an amazing deal and must have! Try your best to find the green tag items abs for sure don't miss on the free sample sushi! The workers are more than happy to serve you and smile (: Also the gas... the gas is for sure a no "brainer" From 2.85-2.95 per gallon. Hard to beat that price specially in Hawaii where most place sell gas for 3.60 per gallon!

I seem to always go during the busiest time! Valentine's Day...I got everything I needed. Roses for my mother at a great price. Use the scan and go, it's the fastest way out of there..The helpful associate Clarence was great 👍. He assisted me on all other shopping 🛒 needs. Great people there .. 3/21/2022...Update Costco was busy but the employees work together to get everyone in and out. Picked up some rotisserie chicken for dinner and crossiants. Used the express self checkout. Costco is still a great 👍 place to shop. 3/31/2022...Hmm does Google Maps always ask us to update when we visit the stores? Well I did go to Costco today. Picked up some Tofu, Silk Almond Milk, and sushi 🍣...I wasn't intending to buy some clothes for my kids, but I saw some real nice pants.... couldn't resist..ended up buying them.. Always great deals around ever corner at Costco in Kapolei...

Costco is offering something different, appreciate always seeing new products. Prices are usually best available, honor price adjustments and return policy are painless. Crowds can be overwhelming at times and lengthy checkouts, but usually worth the extra inconvenience. Since the "pandemic", no more yummy samples given out. Parking is ample, food court offers cheap snacks and tire center available for automotive needs. Gas center reasonable prices, lines can be long, but always seem to go faster than you expect.

Update: 3/21/25 late morning: I spoke with the actual GM after notifying corporate through their live chat feature, and, in short, he will ensure the stall is available 24/7--as he said he always expected it to be, but wasn't aware it was an issue until I reported it. Great! THANKS!

FYI: Pono and team were blowing smoke when he said (on "their" behalf) that it was their store's policy to block it when they return the carts when they need to scrub the concrete, and, that he "didn't know" when the schedule was for cleaning once a week (although his other employees previously, and the GM, himself yesterday, confirmed that it happens Thursday nights): SHAME ON YOU FOR LYING, PONO...but I'm not surprised; you look the type to lie for your own interests. :/

3/21/25 morning - Pono, the supposed GM manager--which I later found out is just some mid-level manager (maybe someday, little guy) when I contacted corporate, not the AGM or GM--comes out telling me at around 7:50 AM after one of his staff complained that the charging station is unavailable to be used yet I was occupying it...when I've been clearly connected and charging since 5 AM this morning--and many other days and times before that. Then, he proceeds to tell me it's because I'm not in a stall. Well, dummy, the reason I'm not in a stall is because the carts are (intentionally, evidently) halfway into my stall. Furthermore, again, from prior experiences, I'm told they only block it so they can clean the floors. Clearly, I was there when said employee came in to do it (who also didn't have an issue, or at least didn't tell me, directly), while Pono was probably still snoring in bed. Lastly, Pono made some lame excuse, claiming he didn't know who complained among his staff when I asked...Uhm, dude, you're the supposed manager; go f*+ING find out...if you're not just out right lying to my face (likely the case with that smug look on your face when I told you it was/is a lame excuse.) BTW, the guy was less than 10 ft away from me as he's loudly talking to you over walkie talkie, thinking I would be intimidated when he came over saying, "You need to move or a manager will come out and talk to you." But yeah, thanks for your (obviously sarcastic) well-wish for me to have a great day: I definitely (non-sarcastically) will because life's good for me, despite your dumb assery. And, I will also take it up with Blink and your corporate office since the two clearly have a deal to have it available to customers 24/7! Perhaps you would do well to know your own company's policies, especially as the supposed store manager (again, maybe someday, when you're better at lying, and maybe customer service), Pono!

In any case,

About the car charger: Don't advertise your one car charging station as 24/7 and then block it with the carts as soon as you can at closing. Lazy.

Update your damn availability if it's not actually going to be available for use 24/7--and give people notice through signage, verbiage on your website, or something equally customer-service oriented and...

UPDATE: The best Costco on island... maybe I should give 1 star so it doesn't get crazy busy like other locations.

Wanted to share my trick with my fellow money-savers:

So I actually buy a Costco cash card when my credit card (like Discover) offers a 5% bonus return when at wholesale retailers. Since Costco doesn't accept Disco at the stores, I just buy the cash cards and get my bonus. I still get my 2% back from my membership, and it spends like cash. It can be used anywhere Costco: the store, the foodcourt, even the gas pump! I usually buy them in smaller denominations like $500 or so (for fear of losing them), but you can buy it from $25 to $5000 I believe.

More bonus: When it gets to a smaller denomination (like $50) I give them to my husband (who is NOT my second card holder) to pick up small items like milk and fruit. He can use the cash card as his "membership card". He can get through the doors and pay with it, never needing the Costco membership card. Only catch with that is that he can't spend over the amount of the card.

ORIGINAL: I used to be a big commissary shopper. Now, I will only go there for certain items (mostly bath and body) or if I just need ONE regular sized item (like one bottle of boysenberry syrup as opposed to a vat of it!). Costco really has replaced all my shopping needs. I usually just buy whatever is on sale because the sale price comes out better than getting it at the commissary or elsewhere. And milk, eggs, paper products, and gas are comparable to what you can find on post and most definitely cheaper than what is offered at places like Foodland...

Went Costco in Kapolei are very rude (Mr. Gilbert)at the entrance I had my dog was in my cross body bag it’s very small carry on bag. He said it’s not allowed dog in the store. I told him I didn’t know that because I came a couple of times shopping with my dog. I think if you bringing in your dog as long as you have a bag with you you should allow them with the shopper. Dog just like you own babies and cannot be prejudiced. I told this employee Mr. Gilbert at the entrance I have my dog couple of times and no one told me I couldn’t bring my baby dog inside Me. Gilbert told me and assume and judged me that I snicked my dog in the store. It’s very rude for him to say that and judging me that way. Like I told him I brought my dog on this place a couple of times and he just smiled and said I’ve snuck out my dog. My whole family been a member to Costco and my suggestion to please have your employees to attend a customer service training so that it doesn’t not Costco to have a bad reputation. I hope this experience to me wouldn’t happen to someone else. Very disappointing and I hope in the future Costco store will treat dog just like human to me as long your dog has carrying bag and/or the dog is in the owner secured with them not just running around on the leached so that it’s more protective with all customers. Please have talk to your employees and I hope you’ll allowed dogs which you’ll have a policy that has to be in carrier bags with them for the safety of your customers. Thank you so much in advance to look into this issues and have a blessed...
