Segway Of Hawaii-Kailua — Attraction in Oʻahu

Earlier this year we took an amazing vacation to Oahu and stayed in a beach house just south of Kailua on Oahu. We did all kinds of activities to keep us entertained and give us a chance to explore the island. We really wanted to do something different, that none of us had done before, and this Segway tour fit the bill. It was an amazing adventure! I really feel that this outing really made our vacation for us and the rest of the group. None of us had ever ridden a Segway before so some in the party were a bit concerned.

Prior to getting out on the road though, our tour guides took us through enough training to feel comfortable on the Segway's, and to be honest it only took about 5-10 min. to feel like riding the Segway was second nature. You certainly don't have to be an athlete at all to ride these things and before we knew it we were zooming around the indoor training space and the parking lot like old Segway pros. Shortly thereafter the whole group was cruising down the paths of Kailua really enjoying the experience.

Our tour guides were AMAZING! We had the most amazing experience and our guides took pictures the entire way (and videos) so we could have them afterwards. The highlight of the tour was visiting the lookout point in Kailua where we were able to get some amazing photos of the group and then head down to the beaches along the tour. The next morning we returned to one of the beaches we visited on the tour and spend the afternoon there playing.

This is something we will NEVER forget and will for sure be doing again on...

My son and I like segway tours in general but this one in Kailua was the best! Of course the views were out of this world but this tour is the perfect combination of beauty, culture and FUN! The off road capabilities let us experience so much more beauty and gave us opportunities to open them up in a way that the street modles can't allow for. So my son's thing is having fun and my motive was that it is a way to make history more palatable for a teenager... Perfect! I think the cultural tour should be mandatory for every middle school and high school student so they can appreciate the richness of the Hawaiian culture and their environment. The segway itself is easy enough to learn for anyone who meets the size requirements and the tour guides go out of their way to provide safe and fun experiences when we had to be on the streets. Everyone that I met, whether we were in their group or not was very friendly with aloha spirit. No matter where you are staying on Oahu, it is definately worth the trip to Kailua for this...

This operation its run by a couple with significant time in the island. My tour was great!! I highly recommend it. Don’t worry if you’ve never ridden before, they’ll give you a lesson beforehand to make sure you know what you’re doing. The tour guide was very diligent in making sure I stayed hydrated and that I “drove” safely. He constantly pointed out any areas or obstacles (of which there were very few) along the path. Along with enjoying the beautiful breezes and views, I also received much historical information about the sites. I would advise you to wear a bathing suit as we make a few beach stops where I was dying to jump in. Last and not least you can’t take photos and ride at the same time, but they will do that for you too and give you a video at the end for just $25. You will want the video!!
