After going to many furniture stores to furnish our home we finally decided on Lazy Boy for the quality of the furniture, but had a horrible experience. We ordered over $15,000 of furniture to only be extremely disappointed. They came and took measurements of our home before completing our order to make sure everything fit and the delivery would go smooth. Delivery day arrives and the guys come in are extremely sloppy and tracking dirt everywhere. We asked them to wear booties and stay on the blankets we laid out to walk on, but they disregarded anything we said. They brought in our rugs and 2 pieces of furniture to the basement, and then call us upstairs to tell us the rest of the furniture we bought won’t fit in the basement. Before telling us this they tried shoving the furniture downstairs, ruining our whole door frame. Then I look at the walls going down to our basement and they are completely scratched and dented. And they acted like it was no big deal. They leave the furniture that doesn’t fit in our basement in the middle of our living room until we decide what to do. We called the store and wanted it returned and they wouldn’t come get it for a whole week. Along with all of these situations we were missing 2 pillows we ordered, had the wrong legs put on the furniture, a lamp was forgotten, and a huge area rug for our living room was lost. The rug was reordered and supposed to be in the next week and didn’t come in for 3. We reorder furniture for the basement and had to wait another 7 weeks to receive that. All in all in took roughly 4 months to get all of our pieces. We had to take off work multiple times for different deliveries to happen and I asked the first men that came and destroyed our walls not to come back, but of course same guys were sent the next time and caused even more damage! After all the problems we asked for 10% off our order and were rudely responded to multiple times and given $500 off even though we said we wanted to talk to a someone else, but were denied multiple times by the manager. All in all terrible experience and would...
Read moreI had a typical mid to high end furniture purchase experience. After looking at all the options in the area for new living room furniture, we chose LazyBoy for our new couch, loveseat, and recliner set. One thing to know going in, is that all of the extras cost a lot extra! Have a plan, know what you want, sleep on it, and return with your plan. We cut costs dramatically by getting the basic model of loveseat and recliner without power mechanisms. We opted for all the bells and whistles on the couch we will sit on all the time instead. We also chose one of the “stock fabrics.” This will also bring the cost down. It was nice to be able to actually sit in all of the different models to make an educated choice. My husband is 6’3”, and very long waisted. He sat in several styles, and ultimately, we opted for the Dorian because his head was fully supported. Some of the couches are smaller, and his head was above the back of the couch. Be alert that the sales associate will try to add another $970.00 for Scotch Guard, extended warranty etc. We declined. I will Scotch Guard my purchase myself, thanks. All of that said, we were at $7600.00 out the door (including tax, $300 dollar delivery fee, $175.00 swivel add on to the recliner, and 175.00 rechargeable battery power with our three pieces.) That said, the set we almost purchased from Bob’s would’ve cost us $5000+, so the upgrade to Lazy Boy was a no brainer. The quality at LazyBoy (even in the basic models) is WAY better than Ashley and Bobs. We paid half down last night, and we will pay the other half when we schedule delivery in a couple of months. Yes, apparently it will take a while for the fabric to come in the items to be delivered, but it will be worth the wait. Had we purchased the set in the display fabric, delivery would have...
Read moreTERRIBLE FOLLOW UP WITH SERVICE! We purchased our recliner only a few months ago. Since then, we have had to call the service department to request a service call for a creaking noise coming from the chair when rocking. Your wait time for services calls is TERRIBLE. Each time we call, our "on hold" time is a minimum of 7 minutes up to over 13 minutes! We finally had a service tech come to our home after waiting several days. He was VERY late and didn't even call to alert us of his tardiness. When I say late, he was several hours late. When he finally got there, he diagnosed the creaking noise as a bad spring and ordered a replacement set. I commented to him about the "on hold" time and he said he has to call in to the same line we do and he experiences the exact same thing! Well, our springs came in after about two weeks and we called to set another tech visit appointment. Yep, on hold for over 10 minutes again! Well, the tech appointment was set several days later and when he came today, he said the creaking noise was not a spring, but a piece of the wooden rocker mechanism and that he needed to order another part....so, we now wait another two weeks. To get a jump on the long wait time for the service call following the delivery of the parts, we called to schedule our appointment for three weeks from today. 13 MINUTES on hold! Only to learn that we MUST WAIT until the parts arrive, then call again (probably will be on hold again) to set up a tech visit for several days later. UGH! Wow...to think that we paid over $2,000 for this recliner and the level of service is worse than I ever expected. You are not living up to your brand promise and I have lost...
