Yaupon Beach Fishing Pier — Attraction in Oak Island

Your better off at any other pier. I'd heard the fishing was good here. It's not I've had better luck at hb or oib. Also while I was there there was a thunderstorms. I fished through it. I fished through the worst of the storm but about 9pm they started to flash the lights to tell ppl they where closing. Granted I paid to fish until closing at 10pm and the worst of the storm had passed. So if they where worried about safety they should have closed it sooner but waited until the end they knew they weren't going to get anymore customers. After they flashed the lights I wanted to fish more but keep my line out deep since I was being cheated an hour. So my friend walked the line in and I was carrying everything. We did this shortly after the lights where flashed. The pier employee approached us while we where leaving and said " do I need to cut your line or cut you I flashed the lights ". After this threat I responded with " where leaving try to cut me ill have to cut you " His response was to say I no longer can fish there. Which after that threat and the lack of fish ill never fish there again. Hes lucky I'm not pressing charges on him. I'm also a combat veteran with a purple heart. Regardless of that you don't threaten people with violence especially when there leaving like you asked, and you shorted me an hour because of a storm thats passed. He also kept talking to himself the whole walk down the pier i couldn't hear him but he was a creepy guy. Bottom line ill never fish there again. Noone deserves to be treated the way he treated us and frankly I think because it was 9pm he didn't wanna wait an extra hour to go to his moms basement. Even thou there open until 10 and people pay to fish until 10. I feel cheated and disrespected. And will never fish...
