On my first real visit to the Oak Island area and I stumbled on to the Grape and Ale on a cold Sunday afternoon. I saw they had tables outside which worked great given I had my dog along. Turns out they are dog friendly and eventually, after enjoying a beer outside, was able to go inside and enjoy warmer temps, company for my pooch, some good beer and very friendly patrons and staff. I got to meet the owners of the "Ale" side and they were absolutely wonderful, welcoming and friendly. I can't wait to go back when the weather is warmer. The beer was excellent, the wine selection looks equally wonderful and the vibe is so incredibly comfortable. I hope to make this a regular stop on my ever increasing trips...

They actually offer some of the best craft beers available here. The owner knows what he's buying. Don't bother stopping here for a grocery store beer. These are real beers, with real flavor.
