The owner physically ATTACKED ME! To say I had a terrible experience at Nena’s Atelier is a severe understatement. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. The owner is very UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, AGGRESSIVE, ARGUMENTATIVE, doesn’t own up to her mistakes and does NOT provide quality work. Never in my life have I experienced such erratic behavior in another human being. She ruined my wedding dress experience and she ruined my dress! I am writing this so no other person has to endure the trauma that I am going through.
It started with the owner missing a bridal try on appointment and arguing with me over the phone that I never had an appointment. Only after asking her twice to check her calendar did she finally admit to missing the appointment but she did nothing to make things right . Since she still had my dress I let it go and made another appointment a few weeks later.
The next appointment my mom and sister joined me. The owner did not even know I had an appointment when we arrived and was not prepared at all. When she finally found my dress it was stained, dirty thread was used, the seams didn’t match up and the stitching was bunched up and looked terrible. Any places that were worked on on the dress were dirty. I understand this was only the first try on but half the dress wasn’t even hemmed yet and the stuff she had done was terrible quality and dirty!! I did not feel comfortable having her do any more work on the dress since the quality at that point was unacceptable. She denied staining the dress and expected me to pay full price even though more then half the work was not completed and what was completed was unacceptable in my opinion. The owner threatened and bullied me into paying for her mistakes by saying she called the police. After waiting 45 minutes for the police who never came, I chose to pay the owner. I took the itemized receipt on the counter and started to leave. As I was walking away the owner ATTACKED me from behind, pushed me to the ground, got on top of me and held my wrist down that was holding the receipt. My sister got her off of me and immediately called 911 and the police came quickly to our rescue. Her rudeness continued as we spoke to the police were she continued with her erratic and argumentative behavior.
This woman should never be allowed to terrorize another human over a wedding dress the way she did to me. Keep yourself and your special dresses safe and choose ANY OTHER seamstress. I walked away from a dress fitting with a ruined wedding dress and bruises on my knees, wrist, and ribs. This is not ok. This woman is not ok. Stay away...Far away...
Read moreSave yourself a lot of grief. Don't use this business for your alterations. Three months after bringing her wedding gown there for alterations, my daughter went to an appointment , which had been confirmed the night before by the shop's website, and found the door closed. When she called, the proprietor said she had taken the day off . Evidently the seamstress doesn't bother to check her schedule and notify her customers. Went we went back for a new appointment a couple of weeks later we found that she again didn't seem to know her schedule and she had to look around her shop to find my daughter's dress. When my daughter put on her gown found that some alterations were badly done and some not done at all because "she forgot". The gown even had dirty fingerprints on it. The seamstress apologized for the forgotten alterations and offered us water. No amount of water was going to make up for her disregard of us as customers and our property. After this my daughter was justifiably very upset at which the seamstress told my daughter that she had to "control her emotions". We decided to take the dress and have someone else try to fix it and finish the rest of the alterations because at this point we couldn't trust her anymore. When we finally agreed on a price to pay for these poorly done alterations my daughter put a check on her desk and took the form with the itemized costs off the desk. The seamstress immediately jumped on top of my daughter pushing her on the ground and trying to pry the paper out of her hand hurting my daughter's wrist. The seamstress was way out of line. We called the police and of course she denied even touching my daughter. We will definitely tell everyone we know to not do business with this seamstress. I am writing this to warn other potential customers. No one should have to experience...
Read moreMy daughter and her fiance, who live out of state, had decided to postpone their Big Day due to the pandemic. With barely a month to go, they decided to keep their original day and have a tiny wedding instead. Most places needed a week or more to make alterations and we would only have 3 days from when they flew in. Nena assured me that she could do the alterations in 2 days. We went for the fitting in the morning and by that same evening, she had perfectly made all of the alterations! Not only did the dress fit perfectly, but she had taken a very stressful time and made it fun and joyful. I had anticipated an upcharge for the rush but was surprised that our bill was very much less than any of the other places I had contacted. I wholeheartedly recommended Nena based on quality of work, price and the joy she brought to my daughter's...
