Epic 10-mile hike with great company!
We did the Panorama Trail on June 22, 2025.
We started early in the morning to beat the heat!
Be forewarned: this trail is not for the weak!
It starts out on a descent. It’s very pretty and you’re rewarded with stunning views and vistas almost immediately!
Our hike was 10 miles total, out and back.
We hiked all the way down to Illouette Falls and Vernal Falls, and had our lunch down at the waterfall!
The trail was not crowded. It was a summer weekday. We saw a few groups of hikers, but for the most part had the trail to ourselves!
The terrain is rocky. Plenty of flora and fauna, which were spectacular!
There was an abundance of photo opportunities!
I especially loved Half Dome!
The climb back up to the trailhead was the hard part! I would say it’s extremely difficult, especially with a backpack! I’d say also because I hiked with an athletic, long-legged group so I truly had to keep up!

Read moreThis is probably the best hiking trail scenery wise in Yosemite. This is a 8.5 mile trail one way either from Yosemite Valley to Glacier point or the other way around. This is still on my bucket list to complete this hike.
I did a partial hike from Glacier Point, covered around half of the trail and returned back to Glacier Point.
Going down hill from Glacier point is relatively easier.
Generally folks do one way hike and arrange a ride on the other end. You can take a bus to Glacier point by parking the car at the valley, do the hike from Glacier Point to the Yosemite Valley. It's one hour ride from valley to Galcier point on the bus.
View during the hike is just spectacular, I ended up shooting tons of panoramic shots. As you continue on the hike you will see the back of...
Read moreNo complaints can be made on this, absolutely mesmerising views. The path is safe yet challenging , which will depend on the fitness level. My buddy and I are in decent shape and was fun for us, the way up is really where the views come .. the top you was somewhat crowded but people dont stay there long on a windy day. You can have a short swim and return to the path with on the way back you'll have to look where you step, however the path is very well preserved and singled. No chance of getting lost. Good hike. Easy to medium level...
