I brought a swatch of chocolate brown hair color, mentioning that it was the color of my hair extensions, and I wanted to match it and requested "money pieces" in the front. My highlighted blonde hair had a color glaze that, when I removed it, temporarily turned green. I clarified that it wasn't due to green dye.The stylist, who appeared inexperienced as she frequently sought guidance from another stylist, initially dyed my hair, resulting in a faded brown color with lingering green undertones. She saw this but didn't attempt to fix it even though I mentioned multiple times I wanted a chocolate brown. I had to ask her to mix in more of a warmer tone since the color looked very neutral and to apply it again because it looked faded. The final result was far from the desired chocolate brown I had brought a sample of; it looked closer to black and did not match my expensive hair extensions. In addition, the 'money pieces' she did ended up turning out orange on top and an odd blonde tone elsewhere. I mentioned my concern, and she didn't make an initiative to fixing it until I asked her to. I didn't want to walk out with orange highlights and black hair. It was not what I wanted.
When I pointed out these issues, the stylist seemed annoyed. I also requested 'curtain bangs,' a specific type of bangs that the stylist was aware of, but it appeared that the stylist only trimmed my ends, completely ignoring my request. I asked the stylist to fix my hair and explained what needed to be done, but I was disappointed with the results. Despite my dissatisfaction, the salon charged me $375 for the subpar service. When I raised my concerns, they insisted on the price, and I ended up paying an excessive amount for an unsatisfactory result. To make matters worse, I had to spend an additional $100 on toner and hair dye from the beauty supply store to try and fix the issue myself. I don't mind paying for the time the junior stylist spent on my hair, but the amount I was charged was highly excessive for a color result that I ended up fixing on my own.

Read moreSo, I found this gem when my hair got botched at a Supercuts. I was the type of girl with long hair that only get their haircut once a year. Never was an issue until IT BECAME AN ISSUE. Jasper saved me the 1st time in correcting my haircut while hanging on to as much length as possible and I was forever grateful! He explained what was wrong with it, gave me options, and really took his time with the process and styled it to perfection.
The second time I sat in their chair was when I made the WORST decision by not returning. I work in SF and had virgin hair and wanted a big change so I decided to get a balayage at a salon on Polk street. My hair turned into a bumble bee with a tinge of greenish hues and awful highlighting.
I was traumatized! I decided to reach out to my lifeline and made my appointment at the RIGHT salon. Not only did they have to correct a horrendous color job but also a bad haircut once again. One side was longer than the other. Mrs. Tat Tat came in for the W! She truly is an artist, magician, and hero. Thank you both so much for your patience and magic hands. I can firmly say I will NEVER go anywhere else but L’Amor Salon and you should too. You will genuinely appreciate the abilities of their entire team!!! I feel so confident, back to my usual self and ready for my 40th birthday and...
Read moreThis 5 stars goes out to Jennifer- Never have I been so excited about a haircut! Trying out a new place is always a gamble.. But they are SO deserving of 5 stars! The salon itself is clean and cute, well kept, and the workers are all very kind.
Jennifer did mine and my boyfriends' cuts, and they were both perfect! For his, she trimmed his beard and neck, and evenly cut his hair. He's picky about the style (professional but handsome), and she did a wonderful job making it look exactly the way he wanted. It took roughly 30 minutes, so she really took her time making sure it was done well. For mine, she cut based on a simple photo-- I was cutting a lot of hair off so going from long to short can be a tricky change, but she perfected the cut from every angle and made sure it was evened out and looked nice. I'm extremely picky about my cuts- I have fine hair, but a LOT of it, so any mistake is highly noticeable.. but her cut was flawless. I can definitely recommend Jennifer at L'amor and I WILL be going back to her!! Keep her around...
