Very nice store they have a huge selection of everything and is very clean and organized. With the location I expected to pay a bit more for everytbing. I only give 3 stars because the employees are very judgmental and treat you like a thief for no reason. The very second I walked in the store I felt like they were treating me like a thief. I was looking at the case when you first enter the store and the cashier asked if I needed any help and I said no I'm just looking around. Since this was my first time in the store I just wanted to look around for a bit but she called someone over to basically babysit me while I was looking at stuff in a LOCKED display case. He must have asked me if I need any help 3 or 4 times. As I'm walking around the store I had 3 other employees ask me many time if I'm doing okay and if I need help basically following me around the store. As someone who used to do loss prevention I know the tricks when you think someone is shoplifting. Everytime I turned a corner there just so happened to be an employee and I also noticed the person upstairs watching me like a hawk. Just because I was in work clothes I may not looked as if I'm not your average customer who can afford your over priced items but I assure you I had plenty of money in my pocket. Its your store so you have the right to do that but it doesn't make a new customer feel very welcome the first time I walk in your store. Honestly I was just killing some time and since I love ACE hardware stores I figured I would check it out and maybe I'll buy my items there next time I'm doing a project in the area rather than bring them from Home Depot. Seen several items I would have bought if I wasn't judged the second I walked in the store so I only bought the $6 item I needed rather than a $250ish sale. I know retail theft has been on the rise the last few years but don't be so quick to judge because you never know who has money and doesn't care to flaunt it. Our daughter moved to Ocean Shores after she bought her home. She shops here and has made friends with a father and son associates who work here. They're helping to demystify homeowner repairs for her. They demonstrated at the store how to install a new thing (forget what it was) for her garbage and talked her through how to fix her dishwasher and what to avoid for prevent future problems. They were extremely helpful, giving my new homeowner daughter the confidence to do many DIY projects on her own. She's now repaired stuff in her house that I have never touched in my 23 years as a home owner. So, this hardware store gets five points alone for that. However, I went into the store with her to buy replacement filters for her whole house water system. I got to meet Cody, the son of the father'son team and was highly impressed. He not only helped my daughter choose the right package of filters, he also took the bag with the old filter--and the water that had leaked out of it--to dispose of for her.

I looked around the store and it is set up nicely. It's a huge box inside, uncluttered, with easy to navigate aisles. The cashier was very friendly and informative too. We have an Ace Hardware store in my town, too. I wish all the associates were as nice and informative as this one, and that the store interior was as well designed. I might just time buying the hardware/garden items needed around our home when my wife and I are visiting...
