Tidal House — Hotel in Ocean Shores

Quaint small cabin feel. The are a few small downsides but overall nice stay. The disappointments are, the fire place doesn't work. States it's comfortable for 5 but only if they are kids and you bring an air mattress that we luckily did as the couch bed is very old and uncomfortable with very old throw pillows. Also only 3 tablespoons, no hot pads and 4 small plates. They have a nice little basket of coffee, cream, sugar, water, cocoa and popcorn. Would be nice for salt and pepper packets as well for the necessities. Those are the only complaints. The others that say sheets for pets to be on furniture with you is actually a nice touch so they can be on furniture with you and saves they're furniture of wear and tear animals can do. There are some on site live ins who are friendly. Place is very clean considering the age and upgrades that have been done and still look like they are working on. All windows are updated. It has wifi and cable. Convenient check in and out through real estate key box and no maids bothering you to clean. If you need anything there is a number to call. We'll definitely come back. Great location in Ocean Shores! However the property charges a $100 cleaning fee and our unit was not very clean upon arrival. There were hairs and dirt in the corners of every room, and cobwebs throughout. The unit also has not had good maintenance and upkeep to keep it fresh looking (like the online photos). All of the trim work was scuffed and scratched, the unusable fireplace was dirty and unappealing, and there was rust/missing caulk in the bathroom. Also, there are no ventilation fans in the bathroom or kitchen, and there is no A/C in the unit. It gets VERY hot and stuffy in the afternoon, especially in the loft. Also keep in mind there are no property managers or staff available on-site. We had to communicate via email, just to get access to our room. We recently had a delightful stay at the Tidal House Ocean Shores Chalet. This cozy retreat exceeded our expectations with its recently updated interiors. The comfortable furniture and bed made us feel right at home, and we appreciated the thoughtful touch of providing a couch cover for our dogs, along with our own blanket.
