We arrived about 2:00 PM on a Wednesday and were able to check in early. The desk clerk brought us joy saying "You have a view room." (Later a friend pointed out that our 3rd floor room had a real view of the ocean surf, which would be absent behind the dunes & shrubs from the 1st floor.) We also checked out early on Saturday morning. "Due to Covid" we had to take out our own trash -- the maids don't go in while the room is occupied. Cons: We booked based somewhat on the advertised complimentary breakfast, but there was none. This lack was also blamed on Covid, with no explanation for the false advertising. The Wi-Fi was so poor that I had to keep restarting it. If you like radio, bring your own. I used my smartphone and Bluetooth speaker to stream NPR, but the Wi-Fi dropped again and again, forcing us to switch to TV news with its constant commercials. The maintenance men explained that they are waiting on a part for the pool heater. My wife said the water was too cold, really cold! These guys also identified a mystery, that the jacuzzi would run for about five minutes before the pump or something unknown overheated and shut down. If you wait ten or fifteen minutes, the jets turn on again. Expecting rainy days, we were all set to stream Prime Video and Netflix using my Chromecast, but we couldn't get the TV to display input from the HDMI jack. Our 3rd floor room had sliding glass doors onto a deck over the beach and dunes. It's a good thing I had a squeegee and Windex in the car. The outside of these glass doors hadn't been cleaned since last summer, but that was a quick fix. It made a world of difference in our experience, from dingy to okay. The trails to the beach were impassable, overgrown. Maybe they prune them back for the summer season, but we had to drive up to Copalis Beach to be able to walk to the surf. My wife and I are both supposed to sleep sitting up (vertigo & GERD) so I had called ahead for extra pillows. Not only were there no extra pillows, there was no bath soap nor hand soap. The staff did give us one small bar of soap and delivered the pillows. LoL We had very pleasant interactions with the staff, who said that the earlier request had not been noted down. There was no cream or powdered cream or sugar for the coffee. Fortunately we had brought our own milk for it. The room was listed on Expedia for $107.00 per night, but we were charged $116.00 for Friday night. The amount is trivial, but we should have been informed in advance. Pros: It's convenient having a restaurant right there. If you want room service, it is available. The front desk staff was really friendly, if not exactly candid about the pool being cold and the broken jacuzzi. The unit has a larger refrigerator than many we've used. It also has two burners, pots and pans and plates and glasses. This is unusual and could be an advantage. The built-in microwave has a good light and a vent fan over the burners. The staff were friendly and accommodating, putting our name and family occasion on the bulletin board with similar others. We had a good laugh in the jacuzzi, after it had shut down with us in it. The ceiling lights were flickering on and off and we called it "The Outlook Inn" as in The Shining, the Stephen King movie set in an empty old hotel. The giant bathroom mirror had a built-in heater. Pretty smart! There was a game room that we did not use.

Can't say I will ever return unless I hear that it's been completely renovated. From the beginning making an online reservation was a nightmare. Had to call several times to make sure the staff had the correct reservation types and still yet when I showed up on my actual reservation day both my reservation and my other family members had been messed up...we came to find that their online system made three reservations under our names. Staff make you feel like it's your fault. My aunt only needed one room and recieved one confirmation yet they tried to charge her for 3 reservations. I reserved two room and recieved only two confirmations and they also tried charging me for 3 reservations. Now on to location...meh...not any better or worse than others in the area. The rooms...well let's say a hurricane could hit that place and I doubt the staff would even notice. I do have to say I'm glad they had two bed room options but here is where it gets very bad. I made 2 2 bedroom reservations each room was to house upto max capacity which is 8 people. Do you think they provided enough towels for 8 or other supplies for upto 8 persons, 6, or even 4??? No. I specially instructed staff both online and over numerous phone calls that we had 8 people each in the rooms. We show up and there are two towels, two!! We had to call to ask for more supplies and we were told they would have to see and get back to us. Wifi is free but never worked. The pool is a nicely warmed room. The water is slightly warmer than room temp. We had fun in it but don't over analyze the murkyness and do yourself a favor and don't look up...I never seen so much paint peeling off the ceiling...its what we decided was in the water...lots of little white dots couldn't tell what it was just knew we felt we definately had to shower immediately after using the pool. For Your viewing entertainment I included some photos of the highlights of the hotel and room.

We were in a 2 bedroom suite as our house closing was delayed. The staff was wonderful btw, no business center avail but they made me copies as needed. Bathroom needs the wallpaper fixed as it was literally melting off the wall. I suggest you bring your own hand soap as the hotel brand melted & fell apart after 1 use. Plenty of towels were available during our stay. There is no in room service . If you need more towels you must go to front desk with your used towels & exchange. Same for garbage, bring out to the front desk. There was extra sheets & pillows in the closet. The kitchenette had pots & pans, dishes, bowls, silverware, mixing bowls & utensils available. There was even dish soap, a scrub pad & dishwasher tabs available. The hot tub & game room were closed & no breakfast available (not even in the restaurant) many places have opened up previous covid closed places. They had a fire log in the fireplace ready to burn. (We did not use) The mattress in our room desperately needs to be replaced, both sides roll into the middle. Decor is older so its comfy not fancy. I do wish there had been a discount for a 7 day stay. We paid over $990 & a extra $30 a night for our 2 pets ($15 ea pet ea night). It wasn't a vacation for us, we were homeless due to our closing being delayed. Every penny in that type of situation was needed. We came in on Saturday & checked out the next sat. Perhaps a mid week discount could of been given?

. I stayed here a year ago before new management took over and preferred it much more then my stay recently....Staff is very unprofessional, reviews are left by the NEW management teams people for two, the rooms were absolutely filthy... carpets I don't even want to get started on them. I genuinely found bed bugs in one of our bigger rooms a while ago, came back and found bugs very similar to those... front desk or whoever was up there was rude no help and accusing us of putting the bed bugs there.. like really?? This hotel needs to be shut down and reopened by completely new staff. The house keeping lady not sure quite literally looked like she was on drugs and was very rude, when I had addressed my concerns they acted like it was my fault?? I understand it's an older hotel & it won't be perfect, but this time around is completely unacceptable. New management is absolutely no help & lies to guests about everything not to mention the hot tub.. I had stayed in my room this time and absolutely reeked of wet dog (non pet friendly room), dead fish and we found so much garbage underneath the bed. Do yourself a favor and go book yourself at another hotel. My family's came back for years now and this new year around with the new management and people have to be the worst ran, rudest and unprofessional people, they’ll shrug you to the side and act as if you’re the problem. My family's came back for years now and this new year around with the new management and people have to be the worst ran, rudest and unprofessional people they've had here in quite a while. I literally overheard the house keeping staff talking bad about each other and smoking while on the job there. Unprofessional, disgusting behavior. Now more to the room part... like I said the room part. Underneath the couch & pull out, I found what I believe is an old condom.. I don't know actually it was so old when we picked it up to throw it away it was quite literally producing a smell what we believe was the dead fish smell.. it was absolutely disgusting. The dishes were not even remotely clean either... underneath the bathroom counter under the sink we found what we believe black mold painted over.. shower had literally 10 maybe less minutes of hot water and our handle felt like it was going to fall off. Inside the hallways were filthy.. the beds I didn't even feel comfortable to sleep on... sheets looked laid on and just put back with bunches of dog hair it seemed and sand… uhm gross??? it was absolutely disgusting. Seriously?? I heard housekeeping then talking down about my husband and I once we left front desk. I understand it's an older hotel and it won't be perfect. I wasn't expecting perfect we'd had came here for years before but this time really just pushed us all over the edge. I'm actually going to be calling the health inspector because what I seen, had to physically clean and do at a HOTEL. Is not acceptable. Not to mention last time we stayed old house keeping manager went above and beyond when we had a mess up.. we understood short staffed, working with what they had. Gave my daughter a toy, redid our beds when they seen the load of dog hair with another house keeper and they were very nice polite...

We arrived about 2:00 PM on a Wednesday and were able to check in early.

The desk clerk brought us joy saying "You have a view room." (Later a friend pointed out that our 3rd floor room had a real view of the ocean surf, which would be absent behind the dunes & shrubs from the 1st floor.)

We also checked out early on Saturday morning. "Due to Covid" we had to take out our own trash -- the maids don't go in while the room is occupied.

Our room wasn't ready at check in, even though all the rooms around ours were being checked in. We wound up waiting more than an hour past check in, ruining some of our planned and timed family activities for the evening. On top of that, it wasn't clean when it was ready and they had no more clean towels for the night, so we couldn't shower or go to the pool. I don't want to say it, but I feel like all the white people around us had towels and were being check in, while our brown family had to be late and go without 🤫 We got inside and found candy wrappers on the floor in our room, the dish washer still going so no dishes, and there was like dirt spots on counters in the kitchen and bathroom, a drawer filled with the previous guests foods crumbs, a broken refrigerator, other broken appliances and just dirty and out dated... it was so disappointing.

The staff was friendly, but not helpful about it, basically blamed everything on covid and staff shortages. Like, if you need extra time to clean the room, then just say that. Delay the check in and let me know in advance so that we don't show up on the day of and have to wait hours to check into a dirty room. We met another brown family in the parking lot that was also delayed checking in almost 2 hours and that's just unacceptable. I've stayed at worse hotels and paid less, in the middle of the pandemic, and this had not happened before. Poor planning on management's fault. Should have let guests know in advance ans comped people for having to hover in their parking lot with their children in the heat wave 👋

We even attempted to go for the $700 room at the inn directly next door while we waited, but that suite was booked right before. So we had no choice. Every where else was full. When you have several other families in your parking lot scrambling to find somewhere, anywhere else to stay because you can't check them in.. you have a problem. We arrived way prior to anyone else, and saw at least 40 white families get checked in before us.

Next morning we found out that they don't don't serve coffee anymore on top of everything... UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE and set these expectations for your guests so they don't show up surprised.

And these was no room service until 8PM Saturday, so our dinner plans were ruined and we had to drive around to look for a restaurant to serve us... at no time did the hotel let us know they don't offer room service until 8PM?

The wifi is SLOW!

You have to cross a mosquitos den to reach the hotel's "beach access".

It just didn't stop at this hotel from hell.

Overall, the hotel and attached restaurant ruined our vacation experience. We had a great time in Ocean Shores, but that was DESPITE our hotel.. which we wanted to spend as little time in as possible, which is sad for the price and expectations they set for you on the hotels website. This was hands down the worst hotel experience we've ever had and we may not ever return to this town to vacation because of it.

Thanks for ruining our child's...
