Read moreThe beach itself was comparable to other beaches. The water was really rough and stormy looking so I thought it was really pretty. The reason for the low rating is the other people. Cars are allowed on most of the beach but the speed limit is 25 and lots of vehicles were going faster. That's just not safe with people walking. I kept my dog leashed as required except in a very specific area between Taurus and Butter Clam that is specified as a dog training area where dogs can be off leash and cars are not supposed to drive there. The trouble is that cars did drive there and drive fast. My dog is fast and she likes to run from the waves. It would be really easy for someone to hit her if they didn't pay attention. I also had a negative experience with a local persons dog attacking mine. I understand that dogs sometimes get into scuffles but at least leash your dog until you are a safe distance away afterwards. And if you see the dog the incident was with later make an effort to keep your dog away and preferably leash them again to avoid further trouble. I won't go back knowing this person who has no control over her large breed dog is a...
