Updated Review: Ocean Shores Stay (June 2025) I'm providing an updated review for this hotel in Ocean Shores, having stayed here in 2023 and again in June 2025. There have been noticeable improvements since my last visit. The rooms are clean and equipped with air conditioning. The hotel offers a pool, hot tub, and complimentary breakfast. The staff, including Katrina and John, are friendly and helpful. Among the lodging options in Ocean Shores, this hotel offers a good balance of amenities, recent updates, and value. It is suitable for both couples and families. The location is convenient. Beach access, by foot or car, is a few hundred feet from the hotel. Across the street, you'll find "Our Place Restaurant," one of my favs, electric bike rentals, candy and ice cream shops, and Ocean Shores Kites - the largest kite store on the WA coast. Beach Tip: Cars are permitted on the beach; stay on hard-packed sand. It's advisable to pack a coat for the coast due to unpredictable marine air and time ā€œlow tideā€ for exploring on the beach. Went to met up with a friend fly kites on the beach for 2 days. I did a quick search and this place showed up. Room was clean, comfortable bed, a/c in the room and was able to open the window for fresh air. Simple continental breakfast was nice rather than making a run to Micky D's. I see that this place is mentioned as a 2-star hotel but it really needs to be 3 to 3.5 stars. Will consider again next time to OS.

I would give this hotel NEGATIVE stars if I could. Please spend the extra money and literally stay anywhere else. Not only is this hotel extremely dirty it’s also unsafe with all the garbage in the hallways. You can tell they are trying to do a remodel but they are not doing it the right way. Just painting over mold, rot and who knows what else to try and do a quick fix. We went to the pool and it was very cold and you couldn’t even see your hands in the pool because it was so cloudy. The rooms look fine until you look closer and there are holes in the walls, dry wall peeling, broken sinks, our night stand was broken in half and glued together, the list goes on. Also the walls are very thin. You can hear everything your neighbor says next to you and above you. They also had maintenance doors open and the elevator controls door unlocked these are huge code violations and immediate health and safety risks. As for the trash in the hallways you can see what I’m talking about and there were Red Bull cans and just garbage bags laying around. Also it was after 4pm yesterday and guests were trying to check in but they didn’t have any rooms ready but housekeepers were just hanging out in the hallways. At breakfast a boy slid and fell on water in the lobby probably from the leaks in the roof and the front desk lady just continued to play on her phone. I could honestly go on and on but please please please do NOT STAY HERE.

Title: Disappointing Stay ⭐⭐ I recently stayed at this hotel for two nights, and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. While the downstairs decor and artwork showed promise, several issues left me disappointed. Maintenance and Cleanliness: Our room had a clogged toilet, malfunctioning light switches, and windows covered in bird droppings. For the premium price of $255 the first night and an additional $295 for the second night, these issues were unacceptable. The lack of glasses in the room was surprising, considering the rates. Front Desk and Security: The front desk was often unattended during the day, which raised security concerns. Valuables near the desk should be better secured. A more vigilant staff presence would enhance guest safety. Window Cleaning: Regular window cleaning is essential. The accumulated bird droppings affected our view and overall experience. Investment and Staff Training: The hotel’s potential is evident, but it needs a fresh investor who prioritizes maintenance. Properly trained staff would make a significant difference. Car Wash Vouchers and Uniforms: Offering car wash vouchers to guests affected by bird droppings would be a thoughtful gesture. Consistent staff uniforms contribute to professionalism. I hope the management takes these points into consideration for future guests. With improvements, this hotel could regain its former charm.

So I've Given this a week for their manager to respond and call me back to give me a refund that they stated when we talked to them about leaving and refusing to get another room due to the bed bug my child had encountered on the pillow of the bed we were to sleep on. Due to the manager and staff stonewalling and ignoring my wife and I's call, here is my review. This has been a hotel that has an amazing location and with an affordable price. In the past they were very accommodating and I Loved to go here and take my family to stay for a night or 2. However the most recent stay is the one that crossed the line with service, trust and lack of accountability as a business and provided a vacation for families that chose to stay here. But I will no longer stay here because of this most recent attempt to stay. So here's what happened. The turn of events started at 6:51pm on the 20th of June when my son was yelling to me that he saw a bug on the pillow he turned over. So i took a closer look and used the picture search for what type of bug is on this pillow we were going to lay our heads on for the night. After doing thorough research all answers lead to this being a bed bug. I thanked my son for letting me know after I learned that if you see one bed bug that there are millions and in a hotel as big as this and we were on the 3rd floor, I was not jeopardizing my family and my home to bring these bugs through clothes, hair and multiple backpacks and diaper bags back with us. so we called the front desk and let them know what we encountered. we didn't mention that we had a picture because honestly, we were too busy grabbing all of our things and packing up. they said they would move us to another room and we were hesitant to accept but we made the ultimate decision to refuse the other room and ask for a refund for the bed bug in the room and how unsanitary, unpleasant and inconvenient that is and we just cant stay here knowing there could be more in another room. The staff that we talked to was a person with black glasses wearing a plaid long sleeve button-up with a white t-shirt underneath. we let them know that we are deciding to not stay here and need a refund for this issue. They stated that they will issue a refund and it should take a couple of days for the refund to show in our account. we said our thank yous to hearing that and left. Now here is the problem with our trust in the staff. we waited for the refund and checked everyday for the pending transaction to be refunded. As of the 23rd of June, the payment was finalized as shown on my bank account. And so we called. On Monday we called and from what it sounded like, it was the same person that told us that we would get a refund. We requested to talk to their manager and they stated they were not in and to call tomorrow. One day during the week we were told they would give us a call back, which never happened. And I called one last time yesterday and we were told yet again that the manager was out or the manager would call us back, still no response. I am thoroughly disappointed by the lies, neglect and accountability the staff had treated us, a long time guest, and will refuse to go back there from the uncleanliness, lack of respect, and lying nature the staff had berated us with over this past week.

To top all this off I finally got my money back. Maybe a month later but it took a call a day and the persistence just to get...

Stayed August 5th to the 6th

Liked Ā· Staff was friendly and courteous, Breakfast had a nice selection and there was ample amounts, pool was nice and warm and it was very nice they provided floaties and life jackets for use.

Disliked Ā· Room was dirty, pull-out couch bed had food crumbs and human hair once opened, and no sheets or blankets in the room--even though we booked this room because we brought our kids. When I asked for these I was given a top sheet and a blanket and the thinest pillow I have ever seen. Realized that was all given once I got back to the room. Came back downstairs for a bottom sheet and she said what she gave was what they used. I explained there was no bottom sheet. A gal sitting in the lobby who I assume also worked there told her the queen sized bottom sheets work. She brought me a wadded up sheet and said she wasn't sure what it was but it "might" work. There were no other pillow options. The sliding window lock was broken (maintenance did come and fix it)--had a stopper but it was set to the largest size. It was a very large opening and no screen. My 1 and 5 year old could have easily fallen out. And with no lock present on the window, there was no way for us to secure it so they couldn't slide it open. I blocked it off with a table and told them both not to touch it. Major safety concern --we reported it upon check it and told her it was a safety issue since we have small children. She said they would get right on it, that was around 4 pm, however maintenance did not come until almost 9 pm. There were drink bottles and empty cardboard and trash from the previous guest under the microwave area. So, not cleaned. The bed springs were literally broken. One side dipped so low, if you weren't almost in the middle, you would fall off. It truly was the worst nights sleep of my entire life. I switched from bed to pullout several times. I told the front desk gal and all she said was, "I'll make a note of it." The handle on the drawer under the microwave was dangling off and in my dads room, the entire outlet on the right side of the bed did not work so the lamp and the plug also were not functioning. The light near the door in my room was burnt out which made it dark in the room during the evening. The bathroom odor was incredibly overpowering with a floral disinfectant type smell as though someone dumped it into the toilet and left it. It was so bad which is why we opened the window immediately upon check in and that is how we discovered it was broken. Would I stay here again? Possibly. The pool was nice and breakfast was delicious as well as the staff being friendly. I'd def request NOT to be in either of the rooms we were in. I will say my dad's bed in his room was not broken and he said it was very comfortable. Luck of the draw I suppose. Also, not the hotels fault but Teenagers were running up and down the hall screaming randomly and giggling until after 4am which caused my toddler to wake repeatedly. This could happen anywhere though so like I said, not the hotels fault. Also the fixtures in the tub did not work and the tables were sticky and clearly not wiped down from the previous guest. The shampoo and conditioner were...

This review is hard for me because there are so many pros, and so many cons. Overall it was a fine visit, and we would likely stay again.

We started off our visit with the two front desk staff members while checking us in talking bad about a co-worker... To my family... For a while... The customers... Who were there to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday. It made me really uncomfortable and left a really poor taste in my mouth. The room cleaner they were talking poorly of had done a wonderful job, so I'm not sure why they were being so nasty about her. :( I don't think that kind of stuff needs to be said to guests.

Lobby is updated, bright, beachy and tidy. Rooms were great, decently sized, clean, but definitely not updated. The look of the showers is deceiving, the water pressure is actually great. I was pleasantly surprised that room service had come and replenished the room while we were gone-usually for a two night stay you're on your own. The walls are thin, so the first night we heard kids next-door running and playing. The second night we stayed, there was a huge fight that occured directly above us for a good hour or so.

THE POOL... Was the highlight. It is THE WARMEST pool and hot tub, and we definitely made sure we used it as much as we could. I don't know how, but the towels were always well supplied. There was no chlorine smell (the doors were open though), but the water/fumes from the pool definitely burn the eyes. The showers at the pool were incredible, however were absolutely infested with fruit flies, so I'm thinking the pool must use bromelain instead of chlorine? Didn't use the gym, but I know they have Nordictrack equipment so that's a win in my book.

Breakfast was on the smaller side, but still a good variety. It seems to be run by two women. If you're not there on the early side, they do run out of things. Second day there were ants crawling on the counter.

Location is convenient to the beach, and shopping, but don't walk barefoot through any grass - we found they have spikey weeds. My poor kiddo had five stuck in his foot. The spikes attach to the bottom of your shoes and can be tracked inside so be careful.

This hotel for some reason is home to ALL the seagulls. Your car will get bombed. I appreciated the hotel having a hose available, as well as a faux gas station windshield...
