My husband told me he was thinking about a ring upgrade for our 20 year anniversary this year. Of course I was immediately excited! He said he wanted to try diamonds direct. I was somewhat skeptical at first. My husband had been looking at settings on the website and had found one he liked that was somewhat similar to my original ring. We had an appointment with Nikki. She was busy wrapping up with another customer when we arrived, so another lady helped us until Nikki was available. Everyone was very personable and professional! We started looking at center stones. I have a hard time visualizing things so I was kind of struggling. But no one appeared to be frustrated with me and I was very grateful for that. We didn’t know we could have a ring custom designed to replicate my original ring only with a bigger center stone and a more robust ring setting with bigger accent stones. We decided to get pricing on this option. First, we had to decide on a center stone. Nikki and the manager went to work looking for my dream diamond! Once we had that piece figured out, they went to work crunching numbers. They showed us the pricing and what they would give us for my current diamond. We were very devastated over the lack of value of my original diamond and I was ready to walk away since we weren’t going to get much for our stone and I didn’t want to compromise what I wanted in my upgrade. The manager said, “Keep your original diamond. I will make a pendant necklace for you with that diamond. And then let us design a replica of your original ring only bigger and better!” I burst into tears having no warning whatsoever. I had no idea until that moment how sentimental my original ring was to me. They walked away to give me and my husband time to talk. There was NO PRESSURE AT ALL! Only a promise that they wanted to earn our business. We decided to go for it!!! It took a couple months to complete the process of designing the ring. When we finally went to pick it up, we were absolutely BLOWN AWAY!!! My ring is so gorgeous!!! The diamond is GIA certified and came with an appraisal so I can easily get it insured. The pendant necklace turned out beautiful as well and I’m so HAPPY I GOT TO KEEP MY ORIGINAL DIAMOND from my engagement ring!!! Let me just start with saying Gena is the only employee that we will trust in getting the job done and done correctly. We got my engagement ring made and it came out perfect. We went back a year later to get bands for the wedding and when they arrived I noticed they were made wrong. I wouldn’t have time before the wedding to have them remade, so I had to just purchase something to wear for the wedding and then come back later to figure out the issue. My husband had his re made as well because he ended up not liking the style or the fit once he actually could try it on. Since he wears an 11.5 it was hard for him to get a visual since he couldn’t try anything on that fit. Since our wedding was out of state Diamonds direct said they would overnight us his ring once it came Into the store. It was getting down to the wire and cutting it pretty close but they guaranteed it would be at the store 2-3 days before the wedding. I had to call the store the day before the wedding because we did not receive it and when I called it had not even been placed in the mail yet. Thank god I called that Friday morning so they could get it in the mail to overnight to us by Saturday. Needless to say it arrived 1 hour before the ceremony. And we had to have it shipped to our wedding venu. After the wedding I went back to settle the issue with my bands that were made wrong. We decided to have the original ring that was made wrong be made directly from the designer instead of using diamonds direct designers. She said it would arrive mid October and I placed the order the last week of August. It’s now October and we just received a message they received the band but it was not made as an eternity band like we had discussed. What a mess we have had such an awful experience with this store. I truly hope this ring is made right seeing all the issues I have had with it being made. And the delays we have endured throughout this whole process. I met with GM Ibrahim Arch with questions on how much my ring was worth to sell (they told me beforehand that they do not buy rings as a whole but they would buy loose diamonds) but I could talk to the GM and he would tell me how much I could sell for. I already knew he wasn’t going to buy my ring but I’ve never done this before so I had tons of questions and yada yada. Meeting him I knew 100% he wasn’t going to buy my ring and I wasn’t sure I wanted to sell just the diamond because I wanted to make max amount of what was paid for it. But we met and talked and it was the most amazing experience!! He met me with genuine advice and his professional opinion on what I should do with the ring and it’s worth. No BS. He wasn’t arrogant or made me feel like I was wasting his time (which I was, I do not recommend doing what I did). But he was so kind and present and had amazing energy and had incredible knowledge for his craft. He kept saying he appreciated me even after knowing I wasn’t selling the diamond and that made me feel so connected and gave me a sense of loyalty. He even asked me what I did for a living to which I answered “an optician” and he talked to me about his glasses. He was very charismatic and personable. I could go on and on about my interaction with this person but in short, he gave his time and energy to me and was so kind not expecting a sale in return but just giving genuine advice and input and I’m so grateful for that. In the future I will definitely think of this establishment and their generosity of precious time, especially to this person in particular. If they go this above and beyond for little me I can’t imagine what they do for others. Not to mention the rings I saw while patiently waiting were so shiny and crystal clear it took my breath away how beautiful they were. If somebody told me to pick one I would be there for weeks.
