We enjoyed our experience thoroughly on our Wednesday dinner. Reservations were fairly easy to make, approximately three days in advance. We booked through the open app. When we arrive, we decided to look through the first two floors of the store and was very impressed with the furnishings and quality the staff. There was very helpful and not pushy at all. The store itself had a very gallery feel to it with many people walking through it.
When we reach the third level, we found that the restaurant was fully booked and they do not have an open bar. They call it a full dining experience so you will need to make reservations. If you’re wanting to eat there the food was delicious. We started with a half tower which included oysters, shrimp, crab, and lobster. It also had three different types of dipping sauces. There is a solid wine selection as well and we had a martini that was delicious.
For dinner itself, we had a tenderloin steak and a roasted chicken. The steak was a little rare in the middle for being medium rare but overall the flavor was delicious. The portions on the steak are small, but it is a petite steak. You get a small half chicken with the roasted chicken entrée
The dessert was delicious and almost had a crème brûlée type of coating on the bananas. The service was decent, but you could tell they were very busy and overwhelmed. Approximately half of the staff for the next four weeks is a training staff that travels around the United States and helps open them . These are very seasoned staff members that are staying adjacent in the hotel nearby. It’ll be interesting to see how the full-time Oklahoma based staff adjust once the opening period is over. The drinks were very slow to be brought and that’s likely due to them being centrally managed. The waitress did not typically bring the refills herself and would have to put in for them. She was really nice and the service was fairly quick at getting our food out.
The atmosphere was very swanky and had four large olive trees and a lot of real shrubbery. The views were good, but most of the actual outdoor seating was shut off. They encourage people to visit and have their drinks in the outdoor seating, but there was no open bar.
Overall, I would say this is a very nice place to eat, but the service could get a little bit better once the...
Read moreThe atmosphere was delightful but the food was very disappointing. First of all, you would think a baguette, cheese and grapes appetizer that was $22 would have more than one teeny tiny piece of bread per person (we were 4). The strawberry preserves that was served with it was watery, with what looked and tasted like 3 frozen strawberries that had been thawed out swimming in the fluid. The cheese was delicious - a soft, creamy cheese that tasted like a mild brie. We all loved it. After we each had our one tiny slice of bread each with cheese, we resorted to just eating all the rest of the cheese that was left with our forks because of no more bread. I got the Chinese chicken salad and the portion was microscopic, and the cabbage was wilted and brown in areas. It was overall very sad-looking, and the chicken that was in it was easily identified as pre-cooked and then defrosted frozen chicken strips that were flavorless. There were maybe 4 or 5 tiny, bite-size strips in the entire salad. I would have expected some of the produce in the salad to be crisp, but it was all limp and watery with a rubbery texture. The salad tasted like it had been sitting in the dressing for awhile and I could not finish it because of the weird textures even though I was still hungry. One of our party got a French dip style sandwich and it was very mediocre - a teeny tiny baguette with meat that was noticeably fatty and not flavorful unless it was dipped it in the jus. The other disappointing item was the virgin mojito that had no mint flavor and the glass was filled to the top with ice so there wasn’t much of the drink at all, which because of the flavor was ok with me. The hamburger was delicious I was told, but we ended up ordering additional fries because the meals were so tiny we were all still hungry. We were not expecting giant servings either, but there was just nothing great about the food that made me forgive such truly outrageously tiny portions. The value was truly the beautiful surroundings, but that just couldn’t make up for such terrible individual food items. The waiters were friendly and there were no issues there whatsoever. I would say it’s a great place to go if you want to soak up great ambience and are on a diet, because you will meet both your goals quite easily for...
