I only had two experiences with this place and it was truly disappointing. One of my good patients referred me and stated she knew the owner so I trusted and brought my pup here. Nico is 18 months and extremely friendly. His first day my best friend dropped him off so I canât speak for that experience but he came back tired, so to me a good sign. The second time was on Nov. 1st my roommate dropped him off close to 11 am. Literally minutes afters sheâs left I get a phone call informing me that Nico had been ânickedâ by another dog but it was fine and the other dog was removed and Nico was taken care of. Initially I was angry because I thought the reason of the temperament test was to weed out any potentially aggressive dogs but I know there can be accidents and if itâs just a scratch thatâs fine. When I go to pick him up it seems like everyone came out to tell me how âunseriousâ it was and the owner stated that âthatâs how dogs can be when they get too excitedâ. When I finally see Nico I see this nasty bite mark where the other dogs tooth definitely caused some heavy bleeding and a puncture through the skin. I was instantly angry because I felt lied to so the situation could me made into a easy mistake. Later that night I received a phone call from a now former employee named Kristen who told me Nico had been bit and she had to be the one to convince them to call me and that the other dog had specific instructions to be caged when introduced to other dogs because of territorial aggression but whomever was there that morning did not read the instructions like they were supposed to and apparently the same dog bit 2 other pups the next day but said they owner didn't want to lose money so refused to dismiss that dog. I just felt lied to and to hear that she stated after I left âwell she was upsetâ of course I was. He had a bite on his face. We took a picture of it for proof and took him to the vet and she even said that was not an âexcited biteâ whatever that means. When dogs play bite they donât leave there whole canine imprint through the skin. Had they been honest and told me a mistake had been made that morning I would have been mad but okay, my dog is my son so donât lie to me and try to downplay a situation. Itâs unfortunate because I am going to have to tell my patient about this...
Read moreI started taking my dog here as a puppy for daycare and boarding. In the past year I've noticed a decline in the quality of employees. I recently boarded her for 5 days. I checked in every day and called to make sure they understood her feeding instructions. They said everything was fine. When I picked up my dog, I discovered that she had been starved while I was gone. They also didn't give her any of her medication or vitamins. No one could tell me what they had fed her! After some investigation, the owner called me and said they didn't understand the instructions and rationed her 2 days worth of food over the course of 5 days. The instructions were 1 bag of frozen food per day (Farmer's Dog - it's not rocket science) but since they only saw 2 bags of food defrosted in the refrigerator (without checking the freezer) they just rationed the food without calling me and saying they didn't have enough food. There aren't words to express how upset I've been about this and it's taken me a month to be able to calmly write this review. To say the employees are poorly trained is an absolute understatement. NO one knew what was going on. The owner was upset about what her staff had done and was very apologetic, but said "what's done is done". I also had an entire bulk bag of treats missing from her belongings. When I asked for it back, they said, "Maybe we fed them all to her? I don't know." It was like 6 months worth of dogs treats! Either lost or inappropriately fed to my dog. I'll never know. My dog experienced abuse and neglect in their care, and I will NEVER return to...
Read moreThe DOG HOUSE has kept our dog,âRYDERâ on numerous occasions. Ryder has always been a little bit timid since we adopted her nine years ago. She has done very well at the Dog House intermingling with the other dogs and the employees. We have always felt very comfortable with them being in charge of our Ryder. We bring our own food and her bed to sleep in so she has familiarity to her home life. One of the best things that The Dog House does that we have never experienced is they send pictures of her intermingling with the other dogs, and just resting comfortably in a corner watching the other dogs play when she is inside or outside in the fresh air. my favorite picture is when Ryder is laying down relaxing in a small swimming pool full of water. She absolutely loves water.. She also loves to do this at home. When we are on vacation for 2 weeks, we really miss her, but receiving daily pictures of her helps us to see how she is doing well and receiving excellent care. Thank you đ to all of the staff who take such great care of our...
