This place really needs to get its act together. I was here several months ago and their ticket kiosks were on the fritz and I had to stand in a really long, slow line while they rang people up one by one. Then today, I came here to see Justice League and the movie cut out halfway through. We were told there was a “building-wide power outage” and we were told to sit tight. 35 minutes later and we’re still sitting here in the dark (see photo below) with no update from the staff, all the electricity is back on outside (if it ever went off in the first place), and we can hear the audio from other movies playing through the walls. I’d also note that this place has a ridiculous VIP priority system that causes really long lines at the concession stands while some bored kid stands idly by at a completely un-utilized register. I never buy popcorn or drinks here because of that, which I believe is opposite of whatever they’re trying to accomplish with the VIP club. This place has a lot more IMAX and 3D theater options than other theaters in the area, which is why I find myself coming here. But it’s really badly run. I’d recommend avoiding this place if possible. Update: They gave us guest readmit passes after we’d been sitting here for 40+ minutes. Significantly the passes say on the back there may be additional charges for 3D, IMAX, etc. We were assured that they would honor the tickets regardless but considering how shoddy this whole experience was, I sincerely doubt it.

First time at this theater and we LOVED it. The big difference is the seats.... They are basically la-z-boy recliners that are totally adjustable. The seats are mostly in pairs and each pair has a shared armrest that can be flipped up. Perfect for date night. Our theater only held 34 people because of the awesome seats.... Which for me was a big perk. But get there early or tix online if you want to guarantee your reserved seat. The ticket prices are a little higher bit totally worth it for the seats and size of theater. There is also a bar for those that want alcohol which can be good or bad I guess depending on your movie selection and the crowd. Now for the bummer..... The concessions are ridiculously priced. Large popcorn and soda is $15+. Big pretzel and soda is $13+. Also, our movie time was 7:35 and our movie actually started at 8:05 because there were so many previews.... For me, that is waaaaayyyyyyyy too much!! If I wasn't so comfy I would have been going nuts. All in all, a great movie night, but pricey.

There were more employees than customers here, which wasn't surprising since the employees chase customers through the theater, despite prepaying for tickets, showing the tickets on the phone, and paying $20-$30 per month for A-List that is rarely ever used. The employee at the food stand struggled to find me using my phone number and finally found me using an email address, and then a manager appeared wanting a photo ID to prove that I am me, despite me having paid $50 for tickets and snacks to "prove [I'm] not someone else trying to gain access [to a movie]." How absurd. Then, they didn't bother to turn off the lights for the movie. This theater needs new management and better policies that actually create a positive environment for customers.

Pros: I’m an A-list member. Good investment if you love going to movies. Reserved seating so you can be a bit late and not lose out. Black Leather reclined seating in digital and Dolby theaters. I only go to Dolby digital movies. Once you go Dolby you don’t go back to digital sound.

I loved AMC when I was back up in Tallahassee. But having moved to Pinellas county, Woodlands is my closest theater and it is not as good as it can be.

Cons: The IMAX seating is the first issue. I spoke with a manager there and they said IMAX refuses to update seats because they don’t want to lose seats. I’m sure they’re losing money. Who wants to sit in Wood backed, red fabric cushions, the width is very snug and armrest are boney thin. Don’t bother paying for IMAX at woodlands not worth it even a fee ticket isn’t worth it.

Never a fan of AMC popcorn. They always seem small, stale with no taste. And adding butter makes it worse. The worst part is some kernels hold all the salt and you get a mouthful of salt that you weren’t anticipating. Give me regal popcorn any day. I’d finish the bag and want more.

I WAS a fan of their salted pretzel bites and cheese. Their cinnamon bites are gross don’t bother. They don’t have the the Parmesan garlic ones. Now however they have changed their cheese! It is disgusting! It’s got a funky tang and tastes super salty. Combined with salted pretzels it’s gross. Now my favorite snack is ruined. Thanks AMC, that better be trial company cheese. Bring back the old version.

The Dolby digital theater. Only theater I go to at Woodlands. MOST of their popular center row leather seating is cracked, ripped, exposed. Some of the leather sticks out and digs into the back of your head and arms. Kind of gross if you really think about it. I’ve told service but Idk when they’ll fix it. I stay after everyone’s left and mark off the seats I should reserve so I don’t encounter that discomfort again. The Dolby theater sound is great about 98% of the time. Two percent of the time is when the sound gets distorted when it gets too loud and ruins the movie and the other is When the sounds gets so loud I have to plug my ears because my ear drums start to hurt. If I was manager I’d test out the movies and see if their eardrums split and then help us paying folk so we’re not hurting.

Concession area: always full of salt and oil and sticky soda drops. I mean half the problem are the movie goers who can’t seem to keep the drinks and oil and salt from splattering, but honestly, a employee could be stationed there for clean up on both ends, he’ll pay me on the weekends and I’ll keep it clean for you all. Let me tell you the one thing a truly hate… I’m short, my arms are short and trying to reach those condiment container for ketchup and mustard is horrible. I have to protect my front from the dirty counter and condiment dispensers so I don’t get dirty, side angle, wiggle and jump to reach it. I should ask for help next time 🤔

Honestly, fix the cheese and seats in Dolby and imax and I can work with the rest…

I may have to search for another AMC to experience IMAX and if they’re all bad in Pinellas then I may have to cancel the membership and see what else...

Was looking forward to seeing saw X last night with my friend last night when for the first time ever we were asked to show our ID'S which I understand is a policy to show l. However, to begin with I've been to several rated R movies at this establishment previously including Oppenheimer which has multiple sex scenes and have never been asked to present my ID. As it turned out I did not have my physical ID present but I was able to locate a picture of it but was told that wasn't up to their policy rules. So my friend and I who drove 20 minutes to come see the movie were told we could either get refunded or see another movie yet this was the only movie playing at the time for the rest of the day. Naturally we chose to be refunded where go figure we can only get it on a gift card and were told that they were unable to complete the full refund of the 31 dollars we spent because they couldn't refund the 4 dollar online fee. We once again bit our touches and exited the facility. However, after sitting in the car for a while and doing some research. We located the amc policy about ID'S and discovered that a photograph of a valid ID is acceptable. After making out discovery we went back in and showed the managers this and were told we could see the movie if we could rebuy the tickets online after the movie had began and were given no other option. And of course because the movie had began we were unable to repurchase our tickets and were forced to have to go home and once again eat our loss. Overall I'm highly disappointed in the job done by the entire crew. And especially the managers being able to do the best thing fir the customers even after they were proven wrong. They tasked us with doing something that they knew wasn't doable in buying the tickets again and it resulted in a loss of not only my time, money, but also my respect for this...

Been seeing movies in theaters less & less. Picked this theater because it's been a while & it's smack in the middle of all my family members, we live an hour or so away from each other each. I wish ordering online was a little more clear about the seating, IMAX chairs are super uncomfortable & even though there is a seating legend, it's not 100% clear to everyone, obviously somewhat misleading. Now we know. Was a bunch of my family's first time seeing an IMAX at all & we weren't disappointed by the movie itself, Beetlejuice 2 but the quality of the sound system with blown speakers, A/C system not functioning properly, staff wasn't helpful with a lot of questions (problems that I now see were ONGOING issues) I had to go directly to AMC online to get all kinds of refunds because why would you even charge full price for blown speakers & other mentioned issues that had been there for apparently months prior... Staff member purposely made me feel like I was wrong about my online snack order & didn't give me all of my drinks/snacks, which are already over priced to begin with, don't get me started on inflation prices in 2024. I asked to add extra IN person snacks to my rewards while I was grabbing my online snack order & I was never rewarded for them. Safe to say we will just pick another theater next time because they gave us ticket/snack vouchers instead of refunds, understandably. I've only really ever had one other complaint about an AMC that was fixed while I was there. This was super disappointing though, for this...
