Bring a camera and ask questions. The historic displays offer information to our states history. There is a gift shop located down in the capitol building. Bathrooms are also beatiful, they have kept their 1920s look.

Nice area for a walk watching the locals do so!! Didn't check when built but looking at the amount of marble in these buildings I would be afraid to guess cost!!! Looking at size of thickness in blocks I would guess around 1,000,000 tons or more in weight!!!

The Capitol Steps link the State Capitol Building to Capitol Lake Park. As I have photographed the Capitol Building over a hundred times from every vantage I can find, I have shot this area many times and am quite familiar with its design and aesthetic. It's a nice little park. Not once, no matter the time, have I ever NOT seen other people walking the path towards or away...
