Last night, my husband and I decided to try Octopas Cafe for the first time, and it certainly left a memorable impression. This place has a cozy atmosphere that makes it perfect for a date night, and the attentive staff added to the experience. Our server (I regret not catching her name) was fantastic—knowledgeable, helpful, and quick to assist with our questions and menu selections. As a seafood lover, I went straight for the half-dozen oysters, which were exceptionally fresh and delicious. I also ordered the octopus, a dish that has been widely praised and didn’t disappoint. You can tell the chef puts thought and heart into every plate, as the dishes are creative and unique. However, coming from Russia, where the standard for cuisine and service is high, I do have a few notes. While the grilled octopus itself was excellent, I noticed some slightly charred spots—likely from a not-so-clean grill—which affected the otherwise perfect flavor. Similarly, the Brussels sprouts with Dijon were tasty but, by my standards, a bit overdone. My husband ordered the filet mignon, which was flawless in terms of both flavor and presentation. The accompanying side was especially impressive, with a unique twist involving grape leaves. Even the carrots, which I don’t usually enjoy, were prepared to perfection. And, as for the zucchini served with my octopus, it was a fresh, creative touch that I loved—though, in my opinion, it could have used a bit less oil. The speed of service was also notable; our dishes arrived promptly, and there was a nice variety of drinks. Being someone who exclusively drinks dry white wine, I was delighted when our server helped me choose a glass that was exactly to my taste. All in all, we had a wonderful evening and highly recommend Octopas Cafe to anyone looking for a mix of fresh, inventive cuisine, excellent service, and a warm atmosphere. Just a few tweaks on the preparation side would make it even better, but we will definitely be back!

I treated my diabetic friend to a brunch here at "Octapas Cafe" We were their first customers of the morning and they seemed genuinely excited to meet us and share information concerning there daily sandwhich specials. This place is fantastic. For romantics, it's romantic. For drinkers there is a large bar beautifully separated from the large dining area but still just one walk around partition away. For grabbing a quick bite alone there are small tables avalaible. I find that these small tables don't make it so hard to look at myself in the mirror when washing my hands in their unbelievably clean and interestingly decorated bathrooms. I am looking forward to returning, by myself, and eating at these smaller tables. Our server is new to the PNW but not new to the service industry. He was excellent and busy doing multiple things but never failed to service us. He seemed to be a sorcerer with his ability to appear out of thin air and offer my diabetic friend; who is without a doubt, an alcohoic, grapefruit mimosa's. I forgot his name but will never forget that tuna melt and how annoying diabetics can be while buzzing from mimosas.

Came here for the first time tonight for coffee and dessert after dinner down the street. With Capitol lake in the near distance, the lights made a welcome reflection for a pleasant evening walk. We came in at 830pm, just a half hour before closing. We were seated promptly with a smile. Our server took our order, we split the ginger carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. The coffee was french pressed, a very good Dancing Goats blend we found out. We weren't rushed, and we could see others exiting from larger gatherings with numerous smiles & hugs. Looks like a good place for such. We paid our bill, talked with our server for a bit, and looked at the lay out .. Very nicely decorated with lights, sea creature pictures, and flowers. We had a pleasant time and the desert was good. Going to try dinner in the future. 👍

We ordered the muscles Cha Cha, shrimp tacos, smoked oysters, cherry bread pudding, and shrimp in purgatory. The muscles were our favorite! Fantastic flavors. The shrimp tacos were solid and very good. The shrimp in purgatory was Good but lacking in flavor. Maybe a little more spice. Nothing special about the smoked oysters. Okay selection of beers on tap. Ordered a lemon drop and the glass arrived half full. We felt a little gypped with the amount served. Our biggest disappointment was the dessert. The cherry bread pudding did not have a liqueur sauce or any alcohol, plus the whole roasted almonds on the top seemed like an afterthought and did not fit. It was flavorless. We each had maybe a bite or two and left the rest. Very disappointing end to a pretty good meal.

Had a wonderful memorable dinner catching up with friends. Our server was great with the recommendations. All the food was delicious! The star of the evening was the creme brulee though. No pictures because I made the mistake of not ordering one and I had to steal a few bites. The steak was delicious and well cooked. Mahi tacos were a great start to get my appetite going. The beet salad was out of this world. The beauty of the plate matched the flavor and I was very impressed with the fresh mozzarella! We also stuck around and had a few delicious craft cocktails. The pickle plate a nice little secret addition. I'm also a really big fan of their art and logos. I was very pleased to see they had t shirts and hoodies for me to bring home.

First time in, and we immediately recognized the friendly vibes of the staff and smiling diners. When you can you always should start any brunch with beignets, and we did. So light, and the powdered sugar was as high as Rainier…we just scooped into the warm insides and took the sugar rush, thank you. Oh, the coffee. The coffee. We were like a couple of tourists going on about it…well, maybe the sugar was kicking in but Batdorf & Bronson Dancing Goats blend is our new choice. Onto the Dungeness crab cakes-perfect. And Eggs Shakshuka. I know it can be a challenge to try something new, especially when the all the favs are on a menu, but this was amazingly spicy/tasty! Wow. And the coffee! Go on by, your tastebuds will thank you
