I never thought I would have such as horrible experience at Macy's. I'm a Macy's regular customer and I've bought several items from this store. My husband and I we were looking for a dining set and found a really nice one at this Macy's. A salesman named Chris Sheldon showed it to us and we decided to keep looking around but we couldn't find anything better so we came back a week after and look for him to purchase this set. Everything seemed to be right, and after "completing" the sale, he shook our hands and told us the delivery date would be today because it takes a week since they have to bring it from California. We have a family event this coming weekend so it was perfect time ( today is Monday). Today I decided to take the day off to wait for the table but it never came. I called Macy's customer service and they transferred me to the store where they told me there were no new orders under our name or address. I thought it was a mistake so since my husband was the one ordering the table, I waited for him to make the phone call, maybe he just gave different information. My husband talked to Chris and he said the order wasn't processed :/. We explained to him that I missed a day of work because of this and we also have a family event and no table. We had all the paperwork and he not only didn't apologized or took any responsibility for it, but he also said that I shouldn't take the whole day off because they call us half an hour before they come ( what job lets you leave in half an hour like that because you get a random phone call like that at any unexpected time?). He said "I can replace your order now and maybe you can get it for the weekend" ( another week of wait!!) We said "maybe?, that's all you can offer us?" . He said " what do you want? The table for free?". Ok here is when we lost it. No, I don't want the table for free but this would've been a lot better:" hey guys, I really apologize for what happened ( he didn't apologize not even once), I'm going to try to do my best to get it for you guys for this weekend since it was MY FAULT and let me talk to my manager and see if I can get any type of discount"( I don't know, maybe delivery feed which were $250!! Or anything). Instead of that he just said "I'm going to place it again". I just told him to cancel my order and wished him a good day. I'm really upset because I was waiting for this table for a little bit over than a week, I don't think I can find another one for this weekend's event and especially because he didn't even try to make us happy when it was ALL his fault. Not shopping at that Macy's store anymore. I don't even know if I wanna shop at Macy's again after this terrible experience. Thank you Chris Sheldon for messing up my day and my...
Read moreCLOTHING/FASHION ALERT: treated myself to a movie today and afterwards, I saw some of the usual large chain clothing stores for teens and food court places to eat if you like that sort of thing? but I came here for a purpose...to find new clothes. I stumbled across MACY’S and I hadn’t been into one in several years. If you’re looking for Women’s dresses you need go to the dress department and ask to see ROSSY “Rosie”. There are many lovely dresses for spring and cocktail parties. Rossy said they get new dresses in all the time. And if it’s been a while, and you need to get fitted for a new bra and find the exact size that fits you and makes you look beautiful in your clothing, you need to go to the intimate apparel section and ask for DRAGANA “Draw-ganna”, she will hook you right up and make those girls stand at attention and say hello...before you do!!! If you need other women’s clothing such as new bluejeans that make you look stunning; go near the mall entrance in active/modern wear and ask for ROSALYNDA “Rosa-Linda”- she is fabulous and really knows her stuff. She will be dead honest and tell you if something doesn’t look right. What I have found in shopping with other high-end retail stores in California (Silicon Valley and Stanford) is that, if you call ahead and ask when those sales representatives are on the floor, you will get the hand-holding and care that you need. One thing I also would like to mention and hats off to them is that, if you have a non-visible disability or even a visible one, they are most accommodating. They were very kind. And then just go and visit them when they are working, they will certainly appreciate it. It’s all about being fashion forward and feeling confident in your clothing whether it be for Business or Pleasure. Thank you for all your help Macy’s Staff. This was my...
Read moreExcellent customer service is alive and well and Richard, the manager at Macy's is the Ambassador!!
I had a very stressful situation where a couple of my online items that were sent to the store for pick up were somehow cancelled and sent back in error. Since they were Christmas presents purchased on a Black Friday sale, it was important to me to be able to pick them up and so I began my quest for retrieval by calling the online customer service number. I was told that there were no options for me as the items were cancelled in the system. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was disconnected upon transfer. Well, that was frustrating but it didn't stop me. I decided to contact the store directly. I was quickly transferred to a manager and Richard saved the day (and Christmas)!!
Richard quickly went to work locating the items that were cancelled (even calling me back to get sizes and colors correct). He also wanted details of the situation so they could figure out what happened in the system to cause it to cancel the order (3 days before it was supposed to). On top of all of this service, he added a store coupon for my trouble!
I have to share that lately I've not had a lot of faith in people. It seems like we are all just trying to survive and for many people it stops there. It's moments like this that let me know there are people around me who want to help. Those who want to do their job to best of their abilities and provide excellent customer service. Richard is one of those people and I'm so grateful for him and his helpful, cheerful spirit. He made my day and shined a bright light on my holiday season. Thank...
