UPDATE: As of now, my bag has been lost. It turns out that Dillard's never sent my Speedy 30 to Louis Vuitton as the manager told me they did. We found out from the vendor that supplies designer handbags to Dillard's that since the bags are purchased through a third party, Louis Vuitton does not accept them for repair. So I have no idea who has my bag right now. We just found out that the manager we had been dealing with, Sean, who supposedly had all the information as to where my bag is, no longer works at Dillard's. Additionally, we discovered that What Goes Around Comes Around supplies different grades of bags to retailers. For example, Von Maur receives "A" grade bags, thus charging full retail price. Dillard's, however, does not have the same contract and receives "B" grade bags, and are not supposed to charge full retail price. This was not the case, however. So I paid about $1600 for a bag that is a lower grade, and on top of that, Dillard's has currently lost my bag. Obviously we will be contacting corporate, and I truly hope Dillard's makes this right.
Not the place to buy designer handbags - lesson learned the hard way. My fiancee purchased a Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 for my birthday (December of 2020). One of the brass pieces attaching the handle to the bag broke about 1 week after purchase. Note that I do not carry much in my bag, so it had not been overloaded. We took it back to Dillard's, obviously upset that a $1,600 bag would malfunction after a week. They sent it to LV for repair and covered the expense, as they should have. Dillard's was accommodating through the whole process, and the bag was finally repaired and returned to me after 2 1/2 months. After about 2 months of use, I noticed the leather handle piece tearing at the buckle. I use leather conditioner regularly, and began applying it more frequently and minimized the items I carry even more. The tearing continued to worsen. I don't know how Dillard's cares for their bags prior to sale, and whether they are conditioned at all. Leaving the bags under the warm lights in the glass cases can't be good for the leather, and who knows how long my bag had been sitting there prior to purchase. We took the bag back to Dillard's, as it is unacceptable for a bag of that price to have had so many issues so early on. I would understand if it was older and well used or poorly cared for, but that was not the case. The manager was extremely apologetic and promised to exchange my bag for another that was sitting in the case, that we just needed to come back the next day when his manager was in. We returned to Dillard's for the exchange, only to be told that they would not replace it. They instead shipped it back to LV for repair. I have again been waiting about 2 months for my bag to be returned, and they are still unable to tell me when I might expect to receive it. I've spoken with a number of people who told my it was a rookie mistake to purchase a LV from Dillard's; that I should have purchased directly from LV or from other smaller retailers in Omaha. I certainly will not ever purchase a designer item from Dillard's in the future.
Update: I did receive my bag back, minus the promised repairs. I still can't use it, and can't sell it for anything close to what I paid. Dillard's has thoroughly neglected to make any of this right.
They also do not provide any kind authentication for their Louis Vuitton bags.
DO NOT purchase any luxury bags from Dillard's. After speaking with other luxury retailers and business owners (all the research I SHOULD have done in the first place - I will never live this down) it turns out that Dillard's is NOT a reputable retailer. Please learn...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is about Rebeca. Do not come up to me and my people and act like we are going to steal a dress I can very much afford. They had a rack of dresses with a plastic dust bag on it and we took the dress out to put the dress up to my sister to see if she would like it and this women literally looked at us and said, ānoā. Told us to give her the plastic back and to put the dress back. She then snatched the plastic dust bag out of my husbands hand and walked away and put the dress back. We carried on shopping; as we did need MULTIPLE dressed for an upcoming event I am hosting. I went back over to the rack because I noticed a staff change to see if she would say something and SURE ENOUGH, she pointed directly at me and my group and said, ākeep an eye on these people.ā Never in my life have I experienced something like this, she thought I wouldnāt hear as I was technically beside the rack out of view. Which I was not. I immediately said āexcuse meā and she walked away acting like nothing happened. Of course the other staff member was incredibly confused and looked concerned because this women just did this. And the manager was called and was told exactly what happened. I truly do hope the manager I told this to does EXACTLY what she said she was going to do and something gets done. Iāve worked in retail before and was a manager and this type of behavior would be an IMMEDIATE TERMINATION!!! There were other customers around and looked at us with concern. I am not the type of person to steal as I would not go into a store without money. Yet, she assumed I was poor and said all this stuff and watched us like a hawk. We left, and will NEVER come back to Dillards. Congratulations, you just lost a potential $5,000 sale. Hope this was worth it to the company and this lady gets fired. Itās nasty and extremely...

Here are some resons and reminders to keep shopping at Department Stores
Everything is in one place. An actual licensed cosmetologist helped me choose new cosmetics and demonstrated how to use them instead of watching a you tube video or TikTok like I always do 𤣠The staff need their jobs. Maybe thereās a retired lady that doesnāt need to work but she loves it there now that sheās a widow and lonely. Maybe it gives her a purpose š¤·āāļø The shoe section was on point with all the new trends to see and try on They have a section for vintage handbags which you know I love! They offered me tons of free samples just to thank me for buying as much as I did. I scored a Dior makeup bag, Chanel goodies and they even gave me a mini perfume They carry Versace Sunglasses which are my fav and letās face it you have to try Sunnies on in person I got to try on lots of things and not have to ship anything back that didnāt fit right The taxes the Department Stores pay help our city thrive
