This was the worse dining experience I've had in a long time. We visited with a group of 6 to celebrate a birthday.

Service: From the time we sat down until we left took 2.5 HOURS without appetizer! At least we were in good company.

Drinks: We ordered a dirty vodka martini and an old fashioned. The martini was made with gin and it was so salty it was not drinkable. The old fashioned, which was featured on the menu, tasted watered down like it was shaken with ice and too much simple syrup. However, we're ultimately here for steak.

Food: The filet with crab cake was good. The steak was prepared well and the meal was fresh. Two people ordered a menu feature, Flo's filet with lobster tail. Recommended drink pairing: the old fashioned. Remember the old fashioned? I digress. The filets show up, no lobster tail. Instead of bringing the lobster out separate the server takes the plates back to the kitchen. Which leaves myself and the person celebrating their birthday without food. A full 15 minutes later the manager emerges with our plates. Filet topped with crab cake. We again make the correction that we ordered Flo's filet with lobster tail. The plates are removed again. Another 15 minutes later the manager brings out lobster tail on a separate plate, original steaks on another. Medium rare is now well done. The broccoli was so over cooked it wouldn't stay on the fork, likely nuked for re-heat. The crab cake was probably washed off and the steak tossed back on the grill. At this point had we not of been in a group I would have left. The manager, after visiting our table twice for a wrong order and another time to apologize for the delay, didn't take the time to make sure the steak was cooked to order or even that the order was correct. The server brought out a complimentary birthday dessert and that was appreciated. When we got the check we found the real issue. One filet was ordered, plus extra for the lobster. That's fine, bill us however you need to. The other was a sirloin plus extra for the lobster. The filet with lobster tail was on the featured menu. I think the disconnect was either the server not knowing the menu or how to enter the order. Only after we asked for a manager so that we could voice our billing concern did the manager acknowledge the issues and offer a free dessert. Ultimately the manager comped the two meals. If the manager had done their due diligence to begin with it would if saved a lot of time and ultimately the entire experience. There are plenty of great places to get a steak in Omaha, Longhorn is not...

If I could give this zero stars I would. I had an absolutely horrendous experience at LongHorn Steakhouse, and I would strongly advise anyone against wasting their time or money here. From the moment we sat down, it was a disaster. We waited a full 20 minutes for our server to even acknowledge us, and when she finally decided to show up, her attitude was icy and standoffish, as if we were inconveniencing her by simply existing. My 21-year-old daughter ordered a drink but had forgotten her ID. No big deal; we understood the policy, and she didn’t order a drink. That issue was resolved easily enough, but the real nightmare began when the food came out. At first, I was impressed by the serving sizes—looks can be deceiving. My ribeye was one of the worst cuts of meat I’ve ever been served. It was so full of gristle it was almost inedible, full of gristle. Absolutely unacceptable for a steakhouse. To add insult to injury, after we were more than halfway through our meals, the waitress finally came over to check on us—but not before spending an eternity chatting with the table next to us like she had nothing better to do. By the time she graced us with her presence, we were practically done eating. We weren’t even going to say anything, but when she came to collect the plates, we politely explained that the ribeye was awful and full of gristle. Her response? A half-hearted "sorry," coupled with an attitude like it wasn’t her problem. Then, after an awkward pause, she offered to “get the manager.” When the manager came over, it somehow got worse. Instead of addressing the actual issue with the steak, he launched into accusing my daughter of trying to drink underage, as if that had anything to do with the fact that I’d just been served a steak that resembled shoe leather. The audacity was unreal. This restaurant was less than a quarter full, yet we were ignored for most of our meal, served subpar food, and treated like the problem was ours. The server and management clearly think they can do no wrong, and their lack of accountability was disgusting. If you value good service, decent food, or basic respect, do...

Sat and waited at a table for 15+ minutes and still did not have a glass of water, menu, etc. Someone at our table actually had to get up and go find someone to bring a menu. This was with numerous wait staff and manager-looking people constantly passing by. Probably waited another 15+ minutes after getting the menus before our order was taken. The slow service did not appear to be the waitress' fault, but rather poor supervision or a poor distribution of wait staff by the management - our waitress was great.

Decor was nice. Lighting was good. Seats could have been more comfortable.

Food was... well... half good. Ordered a medium-rare ribeye. The cut of meat was far from spectacular. You could get better meat at your average grocery store. When you eat somewhere that actually has the word "Steakhouse" in its name, you expect a really nice cut of meat that is prepared well. This was neither.

The first half of my steak was cooked correctly and had just enough seasoning on it to bring out some good flavor. However, the other half of the steak wasn't even rare - it was almost raw. I'm not sure how it is even possible to cook half of a steak medium-rare while leaving the other half almost raw... did half of it hang off the grill while the other half cooked? So, half of my steak was fair, the other half was not edible.

I did get onions and mushrooms to go on the steak and both were excellent. They were actually the best part of the meal, even better than the steak itself.

I got the rice and mashed potatoes as the sides. The rice was very moist and tasty. The mashed potatoes reminded me of the mashed potatoes you got in elementary school lunches, but with some added flavor. They weren't horrible, but they were far from great.

Maybe we caught them on a bad night. However, I won't be going back anytime soon...

My wife and I came to visit when she wanted a nice place to eat for her birthday. We tried eating at Cheddar's, only to discover an hour wait time. We started looking at other restaurants in the area and remembered Longhorn Steakhouse, as we wanted to try it years ago. Our server was Kathy, which I will detail shortly. We only waited about 20 minutes, despite being initially told it would be about 45 minutes. The first thing we did was look at the menu to see what was compatible with our dietary restrictions (we are gluten-free). At first, we did not see any information on the menu, but this was quickly remedied by going to their website and downloading the allergen PDF. It was very informative, as we made our choices based on that. My wife had the cowboy pork chops, mashed potatoes, and crispy brussel sprouts, while I had the boneless ribeye, loaded baked potato, and crispy brussel sprouts. The wife liked everything she had, though those brussel sprouts are quite tasty. My steak was made just the way I wanted, medium well. Few restaurants get it right on the first try, but Longhorn came through with flying colors. The strawberry lemonade was tasty, too. Kathy was amazing! She tried her best in answering our questions, while her service was top-notch. We are an amiable couple and Kathy just rolled right along with us. Kathy even helped me sing Happy Birthday to the wife. Our drinks were always filled and she had the right amount of presence. Was not gone too long, nor did she hover. Many a server would do well to take lessons from Kathy. This was a memorable first visit, especially considering the birthday. We will come visit again when we get the hankering for some good steaks (and maybe a pork chop!).

Ahhh chain oh chain restaurants. I know you will disappoint but I get hungry and you are close and I want food. The ambiance and decor in Longhorn is intimate and cute and 3 on a Sunday is slow so I get prompt service. That’s where my great experience ended. The bread brought to the table was tasteless and reminded me of a mass produced loaf made by Restaraunt Depot, taken out of the freezer, and thrown in an oven before reaching my table. I love bread and I will eat a lot of it. Not today. Today I had two bites and pushed my plate aside to save my appetite while I eagerly await the arrival of my cheesey mushrooms. I had one and pushed my plate aside because they weren’t fresh mushrooms and the taste of the Ingredients inside didn’t blend well IMO. So, I patiently wait for my Parmesan crusted chicken with a yummy sweet potato while I sip on my $8.99 Perfect margarita that they forgot to put alcohol in. The chicken was done fine but the problem with longhorn that I’m beginning to see upon my first and only visit is, they do not use quality ingredients and nothing, I’m sensing, is made in house. Imagine that.... The sweet potato was complete mush and looked like a jar of Gerber baby food. Tasted like it too. If I remember correctly 🤔 Service was good except the server would stop by our table and leave everything we finished right there. Must be a bored thing-they forget there’s actually things to do when they only have two tables. Oh well, I don’t normally expect chains to impress (besides Fleming’s and they always do) and Longhorn certainly didn’t change my mind today.

Ever since going to the LongHorn Steakhouse in Texarkana in the final quarter of 2010, my wife, & I have loved going to LongHorn. Not sure when it was, but we were much pleased when discovering Omaha had a few, this location was the first one we went too, it also happens to be one of our favorite locations to visit also. While the often overheard guest conversations can be quite interesting, as is the occasional commentary of the occasional unhappy server as well, most guests seem well mannered, as do most servers who seem happy doing what they do. For us it's always a pleasure being served by some of the best in the food industry, & always makes for a pleasant sit down meal. While the other meal choices look good, I always find myself going for the Cesear Salad, & Rice, & Salmon, sometimes followed by a rich Chocolate Cake, & Ice Cream. They make some of the best tasting Salmon meals, I've had. Sometimes I get a loaded bake potato, & it's mostly good, but. sometimes a little over done. The decor obviously western but done well, & the atmosphere is pleasant. They do have a small sports bar, but we enjoy that it's not thruout the restaurant, & we can easily have table conversations. Overall we love this place, & it's become our go to eating establishment for special meals. We live in Lincoln which is a little ways from Omaha, though thruout the year, we will make special trips just to eat here.
