Special Touch Computers is a professional and top-tier service. My old gaming PC was starting to show some wear and I decided that I needed an upgrade to keep pace with current system requirements. After many hours of overtime I was able to purchase all new components for a high-end gaming PC build. I'm ok at getting the hardware components installed in the case but not so great at cable management/wiring everything where it should go.
I tried figuring it out on my own but simply didn't have the confidence to get things running. After dragging my feet for some time I called the guy I used for my previous build. He does excellent work but was more of an office computer type guy and didn't specialize in working with/feel comfortable with working on such expensive hardware. Again, he does great work and nothing against him. I drove an hour to his business and an hour back home. It was 1:30 pm on a Friday I believe, and had to leave for work at 2:05 pm. A family member was going to be in Omaha that Monday that could drop it off. Panicking a bit, I did a quick Google search and saw that Special Touch Computers was highly rated. I gave Special Touch Computers a call and quickly explained my situation and that the hardware was pricey. The guy didn't even hesitate and with confidence answered that they could take care of it.
On top of this, because I had dragged my feet for so long, I had a bunch of screws taken out of the case/plastic components that I wasn't sure where they went anymore. Regardless, I sent the pc/ plastic/metal pc components in. After a short time-the following Thursday (I think) they called saying that the build was ready. They followed all my instructions and installed everything cleanly (I had several SSDs and a HDD). All components (plastic pieces/hardware) were in their proper place.
My family member was given a detailed invoice of the work that would be done and associated costs (which was a good price for what I had put into my PC). When he showed up at opening time, they had a guy that normally just runs errands ring him up and forgot a box of extra components. I got a quick phone call and Special Touch Computers was willing to mail the extra components to me but my family member was able to go back to pick them up. They profusely apologized to him saying that "That's not the way we do things around here," and proceeded to take the PC, plug it in and demonstrate that it was all in working order.
I just want to say thank you to Special Touch Computers for their service and excellent work! This IS the standard. I'm really enjoying my PC and will enjoy it for several more years. I will be using their...
Read moreHorrible Customer Service, terrible/no quality assurance or quality control & no patience with clients needs. They will leave you hanging (they set up our entire IT system, website & office) & then they will harass you for payment before anything is complete and say that you didn't pay them so they won't supply additional support...after 13 years and tens of thousands of dollars of work.
I had done business with Special Touch for 13 years, and when our business didn't pay for services right away within their crazy 2 week due pay schedule, because the work requested was not completed, they stopped answering or returning calls.
The owner actually hides from us and has not & will not even talk to us. Not the kind of professionalism one would expect after 13 year history. Absolutely atrocious & very disappointed.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR MANY REASONS. IF YOU NEED A RELAIBLE SOURCE, RUN AWAY TO ANOTHER BUSINESS OTHER THAN SPECIAL TOUCH. EVERYONE HAS PERSONALITIES, AND THEIRS SCREAMS THAT THEY ARE BETTER THAN THEIR CLIENTS & THEY CAN STOP WORKING WITH YOU AT ANY TIME AS THEY FEEL FIT.
Reply to their reply: They also lie now too. We never made a late payment until the last work wasn't completed per our agreement and waiting for a follow up appointment to finish. We never treated anyone with anything but kindness & respect. The person who invoices and the owner need to rethink their unprofessionalism. I was told by owner that their employees were all lazy IT people who come in late, dress like they just woke up, no shower, etc. but that is all he can find. If they are the one's saying that they don't want to work with us, a courtesy call or meeting to discuss the issues would be appropriate. It's your business and you can turn down ours no problem.
I hope legal action doesn't have to take place due to their access to our...

Edit
If you’re going to call my post “dramatic” and say you “especially appreciate the part where” I “forgot to mention” I “played” my “own game in “ your “shop”. Stick to your guns and don’t edit your response to me. I will edit review and say that I played my game in your shop and it didn’t appear that there were issues. However, there still were when I brought my system home. I am not an expert and that’s why I brought my system to you. You can pin this on me for playing my game there but if was an expert, I wouldn’t have taken it to your shop to begin with. I was left without a solution for quite the price tag. I had friends look at my PC and the first thing they did was check the .dmp files and came up with a solution far faster than your shop and it actually worked. I can admit my wrong doings but I’m dropping my review even lower for the way you treat customers after the fact. Your response may not include what you originally wrote now, but I have the screenshot of the original notification in my email.
Brought my PC in because it was crashing constantly during games — full-on freezes and reboots. Told them everything I could about what was happening. They said they couldn’t get it to crash, and I ended up paying about $92 for the diagnostics.
Everyone I talked to was super nice and seemed like good people, so this isn’t a knock on them personally. But the issue came right back as soon as I got home. I ended up figuring it out myself after digging into crash files — turned out to be a bad GPU driver update, and rolling back fixed it completely.
Just kinda bummed I paid that much and still left with the same problem. Wish they’d looked a little deeper or tested under more realistic conditions. Nice folks, but it just didn’t get me the...
