This place is a dump. This Michaels location is closer to my work, so sometimes I go there on my way home when I need to pick something up. Well, this week I was looking for a particular color of floss. Online site said they had 4 in stock (so maybe unlikely it was ACTUALLY in stock) so I stopped by and see. Not only was the color tray of this particular color empty, but the whole floss display was trashed. Piles of random floss lined the whole top row of the display, random ones on the storage containers on the bottom shelf, and even 1 or 2 littered the floor in the middle of the isle (gross). Not sure if a customer didn't bother putting their picks back and just threw them in a lazy spot, or if it was the employee not wanting to take the time to properly organize the area, but either way it was a hot mess. I've worked retail for over 12 years, I get it. But also the level of uncaring a around the whole store is apparent. I decided to pick through the piles of random floss and eventually found the one I needed, thankfully.
Also, how ridiculous are those self-checkout monitors?!?! Theyre practically the size of a big screen tv and I have to bend up to even look at the whole thing. Such a security issue when typing in your phone number since the people in the back of the store could probably see it :( I don't need some weirdo knowing my phone number (it's asterisk'd out when inputting it, but the number pad to type it in is GIGANTIC and obvious to see what you are actually typing). Also it doesn't take cash so what's the point?
My crafting needs made me prefer Joanns over Michaels when needing to pick up supplies, but now that Joann's is gone, hopefully the influx of new or more customers will help get this Michaels into better shape?!
P.S. the actual employees were very nice. Some greeted me when I walked in, and helped me when needed. So my complaints are not about their customer service. But please... just clean a display, straight it, organize the shopping areas and make it nicer to...
Read moreFor the most part I enjoy Micheal's, but the employees I had the misfortune of dealing with has caused me to purchase my hobby items else where. Example.... Went in looking for a clear plastic case. Walked in saw 2 employees who were engaged in a very personal chat and were loud enough about it to where I could hear it over the fan at the door. After being told to wait for a few minutes while they finished their very inappropriate conversation, they were rude and told me where I could find the case. Of course I didn't see anything remotely close to it, and went back to ask where it actually was. The woman again was very rude, and said if it's not where she said it was then I can go somewhere else and so I did. I refuse to deal with rude people. It's just not good...
Read moreI bought a cricut when we got home we realized it was an open box and all the extras that were supposed to be in the box were missing. We attempted to use it it kept flashing red so it was not working. I decided to take it back they refused. They said no return or exchange on cricut and we need to call cricut customer help. The thing is it was Friday evening and customer help don't open til Monday and my daughter needed it for a weekend project. Very disappointed I should've ordered from Amazon! Don't understand why me the customer should deal with this trouble when Michael's sold us an open defective machine.
Update: I contacted the manager I was told to bring it for return. It was a mix up glad it was sorted...
