Daiso - Japanese Household Goods — Local services in Orange

Daiso is Japan's answer to the 99c Only Store. Except for everything here is $1.50. They did not follow the 99c Store's business model exactly, though, as they did not adopt the 99c Store's unorganized shelves, haphazard placement of product, dirty stores or barely-existent shelf maintenance. In fact, in regards to store maintenance and customer service and quality of product, Daiso is the complete opposite of the 99c Store.

Every trip to Daiso is a shopping adventure. There are always new, different fun Japanese products to explore. My Wife is an avid Daiso shopper. We are at at least one Daiso or other every week.

The shopping is no pressure and, as already mentioned, quite fun. The no-returns policy seems kind of out-of-character for a store that seems to value it's customers so highly, but in reality, returns are at their discretion and it isn't really as strict as it seems. I have returned and exchanged items here.

Their lack of public toilets is often annoying to me, though, as our shopping trips tend to be quite long. I often have to go on an adventure to find a restroom at a different store while my Wife shops.

That's not very cool.

Everything else about...

Everything here is $1.50 unless it is marked at a different higher price. Usually $2 or $3. There are some items that cost $5. And a few items that cost $7, but not very many at $7. So this is a very affordable place to shop.

You can find things like sleeves for your arms to keep your arms warm, socks, neck pillows for flying on airplanes, stationary and pens and writing tools of all kinds, kitchen items, notebooks and stuff to go in your notebooks, even a small selection of shoes, bags for shopping, bags for lunch bags, bags for purses, even fanny packs.

There is an endless list of things that they have at the store. It is very cute and all the items are cute items from the Asian, Japanese style. This is a fun store to browse through you never know what you're going to find that you think you need.

Great place for smaller inexpensive items. That being said, since when did everything go up? Now all items are $1.75 on up. Geeze, I remember when they started off at $1.25.

This is a great place to get storage containers. I am super organized so the variety of containers they offer are great. You have to buy them when you are there because they may not have the same items next week. This place keeps me organized. They sell nick nacks from school supplies, hair accessories, seasonal items, gardening tools, plates, kitchen...
