I got my hair done here back in October and after months of consideration and conversations with friends and coworkers who also had questionable experiences here, I've decided to leave my review. Not only were the services provided not to standard, the customer service was the worst customer service I've encountered ever. I understand how difficult working in a customer service field is and how hard it can be to maintain professionalism.
I booked with Lisa and initially it went great. I was looking for a last minute reverse balayage for my brother's wedding to smooth out a grown out full head bleach and when I reached out to Lisa, she worked around my schedule. She was a little late to our appointment, but I thought nothing of it considering how late in the evening she was willing to get me. After I showed her what I wanted, she told me that with 40 or so years of experience under her belt, my vision would be easy. After three hours of work, I left that night with wet hair because of, I assumed, how late it was. So, I couldn't tell exactly what had been done, but I assumed it was done well and was grateful for her flexibility. I tipped her a 30 percent tip, so overall it was around 270 I believe.
The next day I was able to look at what she had done. My hair ultimately looked the same as it did when I walked in - a big branded stripe from where my roots had grow out. The only difference was my roots were now warmer than my natural color. Now that it has grown out it looks pretty strange - stripes of bleached blonde, warm orange, and the cool brown of my natural color.
I attended my brother's wedding in Colorado and when I returned I reached out requesting an additional appointment to fix the issues. I found Lisa to be a little defensive and invalidating and ultimately got a weird uncomfortable feeling.
After a lot of indecisiveness, I ended up cancelling the appointment at the last moment via phone call. In response, Lisa told me that her time was valuable, though I did assume the follow up appt was going to be free considering. I understood her frustration toward a late notice cancellation, but without getting a word in, Lisa also went on to tell me that my hair had already been "f-ed up" and that she shouldn't have taken me on as a client. This confused me because at the consultation, I asked Lisa (as I always ask) if this was something she felt confident doing.
That evening, I reached out to the owner. We both has a kind, honest conversation that I felt really good about. She said she couldn't get me a partial refund as requested, but instead asked me for the opportunity to fix what Lisa had done, and I agreed gratefully. However, ultimately what she ended up doing was throwing about 5 highlights on the top layer of my hair while she worked on another client and then handed me off to her high-school-aged assistant. I didn't see her until I was walking out the door, eager to never see the business again.
Additionally, I didn't ever receive any kind of apology from neither owner nor Lisa. The owner simply said that some people just don't get along, as though a 270 dollar exchange, a 30 percent tip, and a claim to professionalism wasn't incentive enough to show basic cordiality. Overall, I left feeling cheated, frustrated, and...
Read moreThis was by far one of my worst experiences with a hairstylist. Somer Griffin is her name. I went in looking to add silver ombre streaks to my hair knowing ahead of time it will take a few treatments to get my hair light enough as I currently have dark brown hair. During my appointment everything seemed to be going well until it was time to rinse and style my hair. At that point Somer realizes it was almost 2pm (my appointment was to 2:30) and stated she needs to get me out the door by 2 (she had an eyelash appointment she scheduled DURING my appointment that she needed to get to). Somer then starts blow drying my hair as fast as she can and vigorously pulling the brush trough my hair (like what a Mom does to her daughter's hair when she's upset at her). I see lots of broken pieces of my hair start to flying on the floor around me. I mentioned it to Somer and she disregards it like that was "normal". She adds a few curls to my ends (didn't add any product to my hair, didn't review or look at my hair with me in the mirror) and out the door I went (after paying first). I get home to finally take a look at my hair and I about break out in tears because my hair has been so over processed I can't even run my fingers through it! My hair was dry as hay straw!! I spent the next couple of days drowning my hair in Olaplex cream to soften it up but still I'm not happy with it. I only had a couple of days before going away on vacation but before I left I expressed to Somer how unhappy I was. I went back to Somer after I got back from my vacation in hopes she could redeem herself and my hair but NOPE! She wanted to charge me DOUBLE what I normally pay for all over dark brown. When I told her I wasn't going to pay that much she said "okay bye" I've been having my hair colored longer than she's been doing hair and I told her I've also been all blond before too. But yet she continued to treat me like I've never had my hair done before and I'm some kind of idiot. Somer is unprofessional, doesn't care about her clients needs, time or money. I can't speak for the other hairstylist in this shop but I DO NOT RECOMMEND...
Read moreIn August I got my hair cut and colored by Makayla. We tried to freshen up some previous fashion color in my hair and it didn’t lighten enough so we decided to just go back to my natural color overall. I trusted she had my best interest in mind (as anyone would, sitting in a salon chair?) so just let her do her thing. She didn’t fill the freshly bleached color in my hair so she put dark brown over it and to no surprise it did not take. My hair turned green. It was already green before I came in. After she cut my hair without even parting it out first (or even asking how i part my hair), resulting in extremely uneven ‘layers’. She gave me an a-line cut even though my hair was chest length, and then curled it so I literally didn’t see how uneven the cut was until I washed my hair. Instead of offering to fix my green hair herself, she told me to go to Sally’s and fix it myself. I paid this woman over $100 for a botched hair job for her to tell me to ‘fix it myself’. I then rescheduled a cut with the owner who did fix my haircut but seemed entirely unphased by my experience in her salon, because they all work independently. This is a...
