Terrible customer service. It's a shame really, because otherwise it's a decent store to get movies and games.
My problem with them happened today. I went around noon during lunch to pick up a movie. When I got back home, I realized I actually already owned the movie. So, a few hours later I went back to do an exchange for something of equal value. They guy at the counter told me they didn't do any refunds or exchanges on movies, citing that people have abused the system before. Now, I've been a customer before, so I just asked if they could make an exception this one time, especially since I literally made the purchase hours before then. I wasn't trying to scam them. They literally would've lost no money, since I just wanted an exchange for something of the same value. I don't feel I made an unreasonable request. The guy basically said, too bad, and walked away when I was still talking to him. Now, this is probably what irked me the most, how rude this exchange was.
As far as game prices go, you can probably do just as good or better on eBay with some patience, and you can certainly do better with their hardware pricing. Something else I don't like that they do is that for their loose games they buy cheap third party cases and print art to display the games (when they have the original art and manual, they include those). An informed buyer will recognize this, but someone less informed might not. My problem with this is that these are priced the same as the games with original cases and artwork, which I think can be pretty misleading, even if that is not their intention. I really wish these games were clearly marked as not original case/art. Their movies are priced pretty decently and they have an assortment of gaming and hobby related merch. Cool place to visit, but don't expect amazing deals, or to be treated with respect I guess. As for me, I won't be going back. You can do much better than this.
Edit: You guys don't like criticism, and I've just spent some time going by your reviews. Your responses to all negative reviews are attempts at dismissing them or invalidating them. Yeah, in some cases you might be in the right, but your approach is always rude and dismissive. Most of the negative reviews is because your staff is rude. No one needs to take my word for it. Some of the replies to people complaints here are extremely rude, going as far as mocking them. Again, I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable, you guys just didn't care or wanted to work something out with me. That's good customer service. Your staff kept telling me all the reasons why you don't take back returns, and I responded to how none of them applied to me or my situation. It's called trying to make sense of the situation. I wasn't saying the same thing over and over again, so nice try trying to misrepresent what happened. And again, I just wanted an exchange. Even if you just had system were you could only exchange something once would alleviate your issue, but whatever. It's obvious you guys don't care about feedback.
Edit 2: Nothing of what I said was disingenuous. I didn't say he exactly said "too bad", I said he "basically said" too bad. Learn to read. In the end, the sentiment was the same. And yes, he walked away in the middle of the conversation. Just because I wasn't talking the second he moved away means that I was done talking. He abruptly ended the conversation, even though I wasn't done talking. I'm polite enough to not follow someone after they walk away. Like you said, I wasn't even in your store more than 2 minutes. You're making it sound like I was there harassing your staff for a long time, when everything happened relatively quickly, so I find it really hypocritical and ironic from your part to say I am being disingenuous. Again, you're only here to try to disprove negative feedback.
Edit 3: I won't accept lies of what happened. I don't care about your threats, I had no intention of going back anyway. I mean, how ironic is it what you just wrote? Because this is just evidence of how you treat your...

Read moreMy daughter was excited to spend her hard earned money for some new games for Christmas. She was happy with all her purchases from this store because they offered lots of variety of DS games and consoles cheaper than Amazon or GameStop. She continued to buy games over a weeks period but one day she bought a game that was pretty expensive and realized the next day that it was mostly hype and not that good. We went to exchange it not a day later for a better game and the worker asked if there was anything wrong. We were honest and said there was nothing wrong but that it wasn't that good of a game and they were selling it at a high price because it was "popular". He said that there is no exchange of equal value for buyers remorse. He offered only 50% of the games value back in exchange for their merchandise. My daughter was distraught at losing half it's value the day before Christmas but didn't want to go through the hassle of selling it online to get most of the value back. He wouldn't even bargain with me, knowing that he was going to rob her of the hard earned money. She exchanged it for half it's value and they got their profit off of a young girl. After we left she told me she was never coming back to that store. So in the end they got their profit but lost out of hundred of dollars of future purchases from her and anyone that I can warn not to shop at this rip off of a place. I know these stores are predatory because they have to make a profit but the exchange rate is ridiculous and they know it. Don't waste your money. Spend a little more on Amazon where the return policy is better and so is the customer service. I know the guy at the counter only makes minimum wage but come-on man, at least care about your job enough to not be such a jerk, even if it is...
