Orem Floral & Gift — Local services in Orem

Unfortunately I am that one out of hundreds that did not receive the quality one would expect from a 4.5 average review. I chose Orem based on those reviews and the arrangements offered via their website. Based on those reviews, my expectations were very high as I placed an order for my daughter and granddaughter whom just moved to Orem. I also wanted to support a local business in that area. What I ordered and what my daughter received were not of the same quality. We entrust “florists” to place our emotions into their designs for our loved ones and expect near perfection despite the reality that circumstances may change the actual flowers available; however, the design itself should not be affected. The appearance of the finished product was that of a “rushed” design. I was not satisfied and made them aware. I did receive a call back from “owner” with the “we’ve been doing this for 20 years” and we are not wrong attitude. I explained to her that it wasn’t about the money, but about the emotion we trust them to put into their arrangements. Her attitude was that of “we are perfect” and we don’t make mistakes. Everything that I pointed out that I as the customer was not satisfied with came back with “I was okay with the finished product” and “my designer has been doing this for 20 plus years”. No where in our conversation did I receive empathy / apology for how I felt in regards to their product. I was offered 25% money back? Again, it wasn’t about the money. She did offer to go and take the flowers back from my daughter and give me my money back...what?? I wish I could attach pictures to show that out of many great arrangements that have come out of this establishment, one (mine) was not arranged to the expectations that one would have with them. As a business owner myself, above ALL else, we make sure the customer is satisfied! All I wanted as a consumer was to deliver an arrangement suitable for the Love I have for my daughter and granddaughter. I advised owner that I would advise BBB regarding product and customer service received by the owner and her remark was “say hi to BBB for me”. Of all the great reviews they have received and as confident as she seemed about her product, she would have made this one right. I chose them out of many. The picture on the left is what the expectation was and the right is what they delivered... This might be a little late, but I need to give this review of the flowers and ballon guy that Orem Floral & Gifts made and delivered to my granddaughter in March of 2024. This was not the first time I had ordered flowers from this business. OF&G did a flower arrangement for the same granddaughter two years before when she was a newborn infant. They did such a wonderful job on that order that I knew I had to use them again for the second birthday order. I like to do business with local shops when I can. Being I live in So Cal I was not going to be able to attend my granddaughters birthday this year. I ordered her a large bouquet of flowers, the balloon person, and some extra mylar balloons. From the pictures my daughter sent to me, OF&G did an outstanding job on everything. The delivery was spot on and to the correct address (the Salt Lake area has some crazy address and street numbering that even Amazon seems to have problems with). The flowers ordered were fantastic, and the balloon person was a big hit with the granddaughter. The flowers lasted for two weeks or more, and the balloon person stayed inflated for about a month. I will add that I did get to see all that was ordered in person when I did an unannounced surprise visit a few days after my granddaughters birthday. I looked at Orem Floral & Gift’s website and saw that their PREMIUM arrangements as pictured in their menus of options were almost all $69-$89. I wanted something SUPER-premium, so I asked for a $100 “romantic bridal centerpiece” for a daughter’s bridal shower. I asked specifically for GARDEN roses, dahlias and rununculus. I left the specific colors up to the florist shop, trusting they would know what to do for a bridal shower. What was delivered was not super-premium, underwhelming and not a design you’d expect for a bridal shower. The arrangement had merely 6 roses in it, some hydrangea and a lot of daisies. The roses were NOT garden roses. The vase used was disposable: plastic, not a “keeper” vase, which was ok because that is what I asked for so that more of the budget could be put towards the quality of the florals. I will say that I did call and speak to a woman on the phone to express my disappointment. She did listen respectfully but I still must leave an honest review. I feel a little ripped off. I did add a star because the arrangement was delivered on time. (But delivery was extra, on top of the $100, and the floral shop was very close to the delivery address). For $100 and my specific requests, it should have been a special arrangement; instead it was merely acceptable and none of my requests...
