Driving through the town of lindon/orem... no one really knows, I was on a quest to find me a decent mexican restaurant. First i look... Costa Vida.. meh taste ok but so generic, then Del Taco same thing.... Betos... toooo greasy... so i take a south onto state st and next to one of those gross chinese buffet place was bliss, a parking lot full of contruction trucks and contractor vans this had to be the place. I saw Taco Riendo anyone whos knows spanish will get the play on the words. So i pull in look at the menu to see all the thing that i hold beloved of my countries cuisine. Real street tacos, Delicious Tortas, Real gorditas not that crap taco bell calls one, huaraches, burritos, and an assortment of awesome mexican seafood dishes. You walk in and the decor isnt to great but I'm here for the food!!! The Gal at the desk greets me with a smile and asks what she can get for me. I order a pastor gordita and two tacos one with chicharron (pig skin) and the other with Tripa (tripe or intestine). after a brief wait they bring me out my dish and i take it to their little salsa bar with an assortment of onions, cilantro, pickled carrots, limes, and 6 types of hot sauces and salsa. Im in heaven. So i load up on my condiments and take that first bite of chicharron... the texture is awesome and not for everyone . the flavor is incredible with a hunt of roasted spice. afterwords I attack the tripa and its crisped to perfection and full of delicious organy flavor, but the gordita ... now that was amazing!! Filled to the brim with beans, crema, and crumbly cheese and your choice of meat the flavor was just so well layered. The pastor had the perfect amount of spicy and sweet that most mexican restuarants cant get right and the cripsy shell of the gordita was perfectly gridled. All in all i spent about 9 dollars but was left thoroughly satisfied. If you want one of the few restaurants with real mexican cuisine come here. they have a great assortment of meats that arent all organ or skin lol. So they can please even the pickiest of eaters. Try it out you will not be dissapointed and might jsut discover what real authentic mexican cuisine...

I called to do a take out order, the gal put me on hold for FIVE minutes before I just hung up. She didn't mute it so while I could hear some noise in the background, it obviously wasn't busy or crazy. They have an online ordering options so I did that instead.
When I arrived to the 'restaurant', there wasn't a single customer there. Not one, yet at least 5 employees. Couldn't figure out why she put me on hold in the first place. When I told the girl at the counter I did an online order, she was completely shocked and unaware. She proceeded to write out my order on paper and hand it to someone. As I waited for my order the place began filling up with large groups (its one of the only open places on Sunday so no surprise). Maybe people received their food well before we did. We only order some carne asada fries and a vegetarian burrito which should have really only taken 10 minutes to prepare, but alas it took 45+ from the time I put in my order online. I watched about 7 other people get their food before us.
The employees who I actually interacted with were pleasant enough but I still have to give an F for service.
My husband enjoyed the fries, while the burrito was so cheap it was left unfinished. I'd give an F but since hubby really liked it, we'll have to give it a C-
In the end, I would not return...
Read moreThe food is good. Similar to other Mexican fast food places like Beto's and Racherito's however, I will say that the food is more fresh. Each time I've gone to one of the other places mentioned, my tortilla has been burned. Not here. The tortilla was fluffy and fresh! And the ingredients in the burrito I ordered did not make me feel gross after eating it.
The cashier was friendly, however, he didn't tell me that I needed to pick my food up at the window. There were a handful of other people there too, so when I saw what looked like my order sitting at the window, I wasn't sure if I should go up and grab it or wait, but the cashier wasn't busy and was just standing there, even though a bell was rung. So I just walked up to the window, verified it was my order, and took it back to my seat.
The atmosphere wasn't bad. My friends and I laughed at the over-sexualized paintings of the indigenous people on the walls just because they seemed out of place. Otherwise, the place felt the exact same as La Morenita and many other Mexican restaurants up and down state street.
Overall, I would...
