A restaurant is first and foremost about the food. I can only review what I ate, which was a burrito and two tacos (only finished a couple of bites of one) and they were the blandest "Mexican" food that I have every experienced. Maybe they are catering to a crowd that will never be invited to the Mexican version of the "cookout" but I doubt they use anything other than salt and pepper on their ground beef. That would be fine, except the burrito I ordered was already as cold as a "well digger's toenail" (thanks, grandma, for that turn of a phrase) by the time I arrived home less than 8 blocks away from the drive-thru. I doubt it ever was warm or it had been under a heating lamp having been made previously. I am still feeling the effects two days later, if you now what I mean.

I'm sure that there is something good to eat there, and I've heard the shakes and fries are divine but, unfortunately, that's not...

Meh. I was not impressed - but I am very critical. Maybe my expectations were set too high but I was very disappointed. My "fresh" strawberry shake basically had small strawberry ice cubes mixed in so every bite was extremely painful. I would prefer fresh, soft strawberries like the ad said. I was really hoping for street-style tacos but instead they were the soggy version of taco bell. Real mexican cheese would be better. Fresh corn tortillas would make them better as well. As another reviewer said, the "hot" sauce was really just tomato puree and the meat was a bit bland. All in all it wasn't the absolute worst taco place I've been, but I guess I had a craving for real street tacos. Next time I'll try Tacos Don Joaquin in Provo. Customer service was great though, noticeably better than...

I'm not sure why the price point listed here is only 1 $ but it's way over prices and always has been. First I need to explain this is my favorite taco and fries ever. Recently every time I go to this location I get super nipped on portions. I'm not asking for more, just some! Recently I ordered fries and the bag was half empty. I let it go. Another time I got tacos and the cheese, lettuce and beef were so skimp I thought the fell out into the bag... Nope. I feel like they are trying to save a buck and cut corners. Seriously I'm really disappointed. My husband won't even humor me and eat there anymore. Below is a picture of the nacho chips I recieved in my taco salad. I for the chips on the side. There were literally 6 chips. What's up Orem Taco Amigo? I feel ripped off.

Alright, so I walked in with higher expectations, and that rarely ends well. Tried a cheeseburger - most meh cheeseburger I've ever had, mildly better than McDonald's value burger, nowhere near JCWs or Five Guys value. Fries were good, I definitely doctored the fry sauce with more ketchup, and then put that on the burger in the hopes of gleaning just a Bit more flavor (to compensate for the lack of). In all fairness, I hear people love the shakes, they don't have dairy-free options, so I had to pass. 😭 Probs won't come again, which is too bad, cause I like the vibe, and the total $$ fits my budget nicely. 😉 Price was low... But maybe not worth the tummyache I'll get later. If I did come back, I'd try some of the tex-mex food, burrito or enchiladas. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Between the two locations that Taco Amigo has, the math doesn’t add up. If they have done 21214 shakes in 16 days. They would be producing 1 shake every minute and 15 seconds at both locations simultaneously for the whole amount of hours they are operating each day, non stop, a new shake would be sold, produced, and handed to the customer in 1 minute and 15 seconds. I call BS, don’t get me wrong their shakes are WAY GOOD, but they are no longer worth the price hike or worth the time to get one. Taco Amigo needs to inovate itself because the same menu as long as it has been is boring and no longer appealing.
