Mongolian BBQ part of this restaurant is well put together. We have been going to a Chinese buffet at this location for years and years. However about a year ago the original Chinese Gourmet Buffet had a bad kitchen fire. This forced the restaurant to close its doors.
When the Feast opened up, we were interested to try it out to see what it was like. The whole restaurant is clean and shiny and new. Bright lights lots of chrome fixtures, it is nice.
Interestingly, the gal working the cash register is there same person that used to work at the old restaurant. Then I looked across the way and saw one of the previous waiters (Cache) that used to regularly help us. Cache is a good guy that my son knows so we asked to be seated in his area.
The Chinese food is still about the same as it always has been. Lots of options. But many of them end up sitting and stewing in their juices for so long that they just don't have the pop and excitement of a freshly made to order meal.
My operating procedure when confronted with a Chinese buffet is to always eat there during rush hour when the food is always coming out fresh and hot. Otherwise, watch for the cook to bring out a fresh platter of food and go directly there and dish up whatever it is and eat that.
The bright side of the Feast restaurant, is good that they have re-worked the Mongolian BBQ. There are a lot of options here. Shrimp, chicken, pork, beef, sausage, scallops, bbq'ed pork, and so much more. There were sauces upon sauces lined up for you to try. On the wall were some suggestions if some of the sauce combinations.
All in all, I think that this new makeover afforded by the kitchen fire is a good start for them. I enjoyed my meal. I'm sure that I'll go back many more times as I look for that perfect combination of sauces for the perfect...
Read moreUpdated based on feedback from owner...Visited the restaurant on a Saturday. It was a great experience. The owner really cares about the place. Food is constantly refreshed and counters/floors cleaned. They have a Mongolian Grill with steak, shrimp, chicken, sausage, immation crab, scallops, and tofu as the protein offerings. Lots of vegetables but didn't see zoodles. Lots of noodles, some are gluten free but didn't see any gluten free sauces. Buffet style had the expected Chinese food. Beef and broccoli, sesame chicken, pepper chicken, garlic chicken, Mongolian beef, beef and mushrooms. Cooked shrimp and salmon were also available. The salmon was popular so it was difficult to get but I enjoyed waiting while I tried all of the other delicious dishes. Hot and sour and egg drop soups were great. They have really good sushi. There is a salad bar with standard fare. Fresh food and some fruit salads were also available. For dessert, they have soft serve icecream, toppings, carmel, chocolate, cookies, chocolate brownies/cake, and carrot cake. The cookies were a little stale but both of cakes were moist and fantastic. Loved the carrot cake especially. As an all you can eat Chinese buffet, this place checks all of the boxes and then some. Staff is attentive and clears plates fast. Tables are clean. Loved the experience, will be back. COVID rules require a mask and I was glad to see they were enforcing the rules. If you are gluten free, here are your options: salad bar (it's quite extensive), fish/shrimp, sushi, ice-cream, pudding, fruit, egg drop soup, and most importantly the Mongolian Grill. They indicated they have gf soy sauce. They might be able to clean the grill, if you ask so you do not get cross...
Read moreFeast Buffet really lives up to its name with a spread that makes every visit feel like a holiday. Right off the bat, the ambiance sets it apart from the usual buffet experience. It's clean, well-organized, and surprisingly upscale for a buffet setting, making you feel comfortable and welcomed the moment you step in.
The food variety is impressive, a real treat for anyone with an appetite for adventure. The sushi station is a standout feature. It offers a decent selection of rolls, nigiri, and sashimi, all fresh and well-prepared. It's not premium sushi bar level, but for a buffet, it's exceptional. The chefs keep the sushi counter well-stocked and tidy, which is always a good sign.
Another highlight is the Mongolian BBQ. It's interactive and fun, allowing you to pick your ingredients and watch as they're cooked to order. The flavors are authentic, and the ability to customize your dish with various meats, vegetables, and sauces is a big plus.
The salad bar is extensive, featuring everything from basic greens to more composed salads with grains and proteins. It's refreshing to see such a focus on fresh, healthy options in a buffet.
As for the Chinese inspired dishes, they are quite satisfying. The selection varies from classic staples like sweet and sour pork to more intricate dishes like Kung Pao chicken. Each dish maintains a good balance of flavor, and there are always vegetarian options available, which is a thoughtful touch.
In conclusion, Feast Buffet offers a delightful dining experience that goes beyond typical buffet expectations with its quality, variety, and ambiance. It's a place I would recommend to anyone looking to satisfy a hearty appetite in a pleasant...
