This is a place that delivers that isn't pizza. In Orem, that is a rare thing.
Also, you can get a lot of good food for a good price- and it isn't really Americanized Chinese food- Although it is more like street food than restaurant food.
They have the best Sweet and Sour Soup I have ever had outside of a restaurant. For $5 I can get a huge container of the soup that will last me all week.
Beware- the entrees are vegetable heavy. I like this. Some people are more used to little or no vegetables, I suppose. There are lots of onions, though- and so if you don't like onions, you will have issues.
The Mongolian Beef and other spicy entrees are the ones with tons of onions.
If you want breaded chicken, no veggies, go with the sweet-and-sour chicken or orange chicken.
The won-tons are very good. All the appetizers are excellent- except for the breaded shrimp- which are good but bland.
There are two types of noodles- and the customers are always getting them mixed up apparently, because they always confirm that I ordered the right ones.
Lo Mien= Soft noodles with the entree mixed in. Very good.
Chow Mien= Crunchy noodles. You get a big container with the entree (lots of veggies, cabbage, mushrooms, squash, etc) And a small baggie of crunchy noodles. I would order double noodles if you like to pile the noodles on.
They include free pot stickers with every order over $20- so make sure that you confirm that they included them.
Oh- and the delivery is FAST- and they include plenty of fortune cookies and condiments. (Spicy mustard, soy sauce, sweet and sour sauce).
Beware also that this is a small family business, so you will get some of the charm- I called up once and placed an order. The guy said that the other guy wouldn't be back to deliver the order for a while so it would be faster if I came and picked it up. You will never experience this at Pizza Hut.... they will just let you wait for an hour instead of telling you what is going on and giving you the option.
I have always found them friendly and the guy who usually delivers always is in a great mood and will...
Read moreThis Chinese food is truly bottom of the barrel Chinese food. Like, not even in the container, the bottom that rests on the ground bottom of the barrel. Here's what I ordered:
-Fried dumplings (wanted steamed, they only have fried.) -Egg Drop Soup -Beef with broccoli (white rice instead of fried)
The fried dumplings were a pass. They're pretty lackluster, and fried a bit too long for me, so C-/D+
The Egg Drop Soup has corn in it....corn....If you're not familiar with Egg drop soup, it has ginger, chopped chives, eggs, salt and some corn starch all in a broth, usually chicken broth. So WHY DOES THIS SOUP HAVE CORN!?!?! It threw off the flavor, and all I could taste was egg and cornfield which made for a gross experience. Not to mention, the only ingredients they appeared to have used is broth, egg, starch and COOOORN!! F
The Beef with Broccoli combo...This....this combination is not worth the 6 dollars they ask for. For starters, the white rice was below par. I prefer it fully cooked, fluffy and clumpy to eat with chopsticks. I got not even passing white rice that has trouble staying on my spoon. Another fault was the broccoli to beef ratio. There was about a 1:4 ratio of beef to broccoli. I literally ate all the beef, and set aside the broccoli, and it still looked like a complete plate. To finish off this horrid entree...the beef...dear lord, the beef. The beef didn't taste like beef at all. It tasted like broccoli, WHY'D YOU EVEN DO THAT RICE WOK!?!? It's like they took their beef, boiled it in a stock till there was nothing left of it, to mixed it in with a gargantuan amount of vegetables, slapped a urine sized sample of sauce on top and said, "suck it," with their food. FFFFFFFFFFFFF-
Now keep in mind, this review does not include the 2 tiny containers of sauce that are literally an 1/8th of the way full as it is mostly irrelevant and not really food, but a condiment. (HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO DIP A DUMPLING IN A STAIN RICE WOK!?!?!?) They require a 15$ minimum for delivery, so do yourself a favor and don't.
Just Don't.
TL;DR - I'd...
Read moreThis was by FAR the WORST experience with delivery I have EVER had, and I have been either ordering or delivering food for more than 30 years. The first time I called I was placed on "hold" for several minutes. And then when I ordered, the man to whom I was speaking had me repeat my address three times because he couldn't understand. (He had NO problem understanding my card number) He then said it would take about 40 minutes to deliver. I called back an hour later, and was once again placed on "hold", and this time spoke to a woman. I told her my address, and she said she would call the "woman" delivering the meals and have her stop by my address first. 1/2 hour later, the delivery person showed up at the door. She did not speak to me - she did not acknowledge me - she did not apologize for being late - she did not tell me the total - all she did was hand me the slip to sign and stood there waiting. Of course, I gave her a ZERO tip! I handed the signed slip back to her - she failed to hand me a receipt - and just walked away. I then called out to let her know this was the worst experience ever, and all she did was give me a thumbs up. I don't know that I have ever been treated so rudely. So, I called back to complain, and got the woman, again. I was trying to tell her what happened, and she couldn't understand, so she gave me to the man, and by this time I had had it - so I told him, very loudly, that I would NEVER order from them again. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE experience! I would strongly recommend NEVER ordering...
