Matthew Michaels Salon Experience — Attraction in Orlando

I did the quiz on their website and got matched with a specific stylist. I was really excited because I chose this stylist prior to even doing the quiz, so it felt like it was meant to be. I waited patiently for about a month for this stylists next availability for a cut and color. I get to my appointment and basically they had me booked with a different person. My original stylist isn't available for another month. My wedding is at the end of the month, now I will be doing my hair 1 week prior. Everybody knows you need some time to get comfortable with a new look, doing it a week before is just cutting it so close. I am still very excited to work with the original stylist, they were able to put me on a waitlist. I am hoping their availability changes and something last minute comes up. Correctly booking an appointment just seems like a very basic thing, I am disappointed they got it wrong. I made sure to have work off for no reason. Mistakes do happen, but now I am waiting basically 2 months. Just disappointed. The stylist mentioned that this has happened before, so I am hoping the salon takes action to correct it moving forward so nobodies time is wasted.

I’ve edited my review and dropped to 1 star. I ended up cancelling my appointment all together. I’m disappointed that nobody from management reached out to even just apologize for such a careless mistake and for wasting my time. I feel like if they were to make a mistake with my hair, it would not be handled with care.

*Response to your response; you completely failed to acknowledge any of the real concerns in my review which just confirms you aren't actually taking it seriously, and probably wouldn't prevent it from happening again. What you said is blatantly false. I confirmed via email my appointment shortly after it was made. I wasn't comfortable providing my CC numbers via email or over the phone for the deposit (I had a fraud situation a few years back providing numbers this way) so I told concierge I would be in by the end of the week - admittedly It was about a week and a half that I came by which I emailed you guys apologizing for the delay and that I would be in during this time. At this time, they were very friendly and told me it was no worries - I provided the deposit weeks before the scheduled appointment so all was good except the actual booking.

Careless during every step of this process, including your response. I too am happy to have gone with another salon....

I am thrilled with my experience at this salon. I was in town visiting family and spontaneously decided it was time to get my hair cut after a year of growing it out. I called and got an appointment for just a few minutes later on the same day. It was easy to park and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I could tell that many precautions were being taken to protect the health of the staff and the clients. The waiting area, salon, and restroom were all clean and everyone worse masks.

Then I met Joanna. She did a thorough consultation about how I usually cut and style my hair and gave me excellent advice. Even though I didn’t come prepared with a picture or even a clear idea other than “short”, Joanna was patient, honest, and extremely knowledgeable. She gave me several suggestions to suit my low maintenance and active lifestyle and we settled on an exciting new style for me. Joanna was very friendly and we chatted while she worked on my hair. She also gave me many pointers about how to keep up the style and recreate it at home.

I also had my eyebrows waxed. Usually I am very red and puffy for several hours after, but Joanna must be an expert because it was much more comfortable than usual and I didn’t have any of my usual post-wax pain. Also, I have a scar on one eyebrow that I have always thought made it hard to do my eyebrows nicely, but Joanna showed me how to work with what I’ve got and maintain the look at home. Joanna was so incredibly helpful and generous- she even took my picture and let me charge my phone for a few minutes before I left!

Checkout was quick and I loved that I could leave a tip with my card (yay contactless!). Because of how luxurious and skillful the haircut was, I expected it to be more expensive than usual (but still totally worth it!) but I was pleasantly surprised to find it was comparable to what I typically pay at my salon at home.

I’m over the moon about my new haircut! I didn’t know exactly what I wanted but this is definitely it! I don’t live in the area but I would highly recommend the salon to anyone, and if ever I need to get my hair cut while traveling in the future, I will look for Aveida. Thank...
