I have been excited to try out our newest local attraction, and I can't begin to explain what an absolute disaster it was. I went to a soft opening with a limited number of guests, and I can't begin to imagine how this place will manage at full capacity. From the start, the visit was a mess. The building is still under construction, so it looked unkempt when we arrived. The inside of the building is visually underwhelming. The layout is bizarre and the quality feels cheap. The check-in is absolutely chaotic and there's no reason why in this day and age, guests should be expected to keep track of a paper receipt that allows them to drive. The noise inside is deafening, and it's not from the go karts, it's the arcade games, the music, the TVs, and the lack of any sound dampering. Ironically, the quietest part of the whole place is the race track. Several games and attractions were down with problems. The dining area was a nightmare. The noise is ear-splitting, the service was abysmal (we had to finally flag down a server after waiting 15 mins for someone to take a drink order). They served a very limited menu, and yet still managed to screw up our orders--twice. The first time we sent the food back, but by the second mistake, we were tired of waiting. We should have sent it back. The food was absolutely tasteless and our chicken was practically raw in spots, but at that point it was our race time and we had to go. The race check-in is also disorganized. Between checking our paper receipts, forcing us to watch a promotional video (with about 1 minute of safety info), and getting indivually fitted for helmets, so much time was wasted. There has to be a better way! The race itself was very basic. We have tried go-karting in other cities and this one doesn't even rank in our top experiences. The track is boring and there are no stretches where you can go fast. The crew slows everyone down for safety, which is good, but I think the track is too small for how many cars they allow. There are lots of places for bottlenecks, so that forces everyone to slow down. Fewer cars might mean a better race experience, but it's hard to say. When we were done racing we had an hour for arcade games. Many of the games are simply ticket-grabs or claw machines. Those were all closed, obviously. I am not irritated about that, but the few remaining games we had access to were either broken or "off-line". After about 15 minutes of trying to find something to play, we decided to call it. The whole night was a bust. I don't blame the workers, though, because a lot of these issues are out of their control. I do blame management and corporate, though. This place is poorly managed and it is apparent that they are nowhere near ready for their grand opening next week. The building isn't completed, the staff isn't fully trained (nor does it feel like they have enough staff), the processes are not streamlined, and the quality of the experience is lacking--especially at the prices they are charging. Our night was free, and I was disappointed, but if I had paid the hundreds of dollars that they normally charge, I would have been livid. There are so many fun things to do in Kansas City, and I would recommend you skip Andretti and spend your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had the absolute pleasure of hosting my nephewās 12th birthday party at Andretti, and WOW, from start to finish, this place delivered an experience that blew us away!
Letās start with check-in: we were warmly greeted by Travon and his incredible team of event associates Omni and Shar-V (the kid wrangler). The Assistant General Manager Darren happened to walk by and greeted us and helped me set up my nephews cake! They immediately made us feel taken care of and prepared us for the bowling lanes! And let me tell you⦠this wasnāt your average bowling experience.
The bowling balls were hand-sized, super easy to grab, and honestly felt way more sanitary. No wandering around trying to find the right weight or risking a broken nail in those tiny finger holes. Game changer.
Our buffet line was ready to go with fresh, yummy cheese pizza, and we leveled up with the most delicious chicken wings. The kids were in heaven.
Then came everyoneās favorite part⦠THE RACE TRACKS. Unbelievable. Andretti has THREE different levels: ⢠Mini racers ⢠Intermediate ⢠Adult
I loved being able to go up on the platform to watch the older kids speed by, then walk down to cheer on the younger ones, it felt like being in two places at once. If I had more time, I wouldāve parked myself at the Sky Bar because it was stunning.
After crowning our race champions, we headed straight into the Laser Tag arena, and that took the excitement to a whole new level. The kids left drenched in sweat and smiles.
To top it off, we were welcomed in the arcade by Hollie, the arcade manager. She was SO knowledgeable and walked us through everything, games, cards, prizes, you name it. The kids couldāve stayed there all night.
When we came back to our table to cut the cake, we were greeted by the General Manager Shelby and Manager Seth who checked in on us at the same time to make sure our experience was perfect. The level of service truly blew me away.
Every single child is still talking about it⦠and several are already asking to plan their own birthday parties there! It was an investment, so I noticed the details, and their service made every dollar feel worth it.
And between you and me⦠Iām already planning a no-kids night so I can hop on the adult race track and get a few laps in. š
I am genuinely thankful to have something like Andretti in the area, a place where families, friends, teams, and coworkers can come together to celebrate, play, and make memories. I canāt wait to host more birthdays, team outings, and networking events here.
Highly,...
