Ice Cream Bae — Restaurant in Leawood

Honestly, I could rate this a 3.5 out of 5. My initial review on FB “ I came in and waited in line. The employee apologized and said it would be a moment he would need to wash some dishes. That was completely fine and understandable. When he came back he looked at my family, and then back to this girl who cut in line. He promptly took her order and waited as she took her time to decide on what she wanted. He continued to look at us in an apologetic way. If wanted her business before us, then he can have. We went across the street to Shake Shack. Check them first before you waste your time with awful service!” Shortly after the company reached out to me asking for more information when this occurred (1/18 around 4PM). They stated that my family and I could come back in, reference this issue, and next treat would be on them. I wasn’t looking for a handout, but I really appreciate the company reaching out so quickly. I leave two stars because I rate based on Customer Service, Taste, Presentation, Price, and Location. Ice cream was good but customer service was very poor and the menu doesn’t list all the ingredients each ice cream combo has. My friend asked for two scoops of chocolate ice cream, and the lady looked at her like she was dumb and said ‘Um we only have one or three scoops’ scoffed and acted like it was weird that she only got chocolate without any toppings. My friend felt pressured to get toppings so she agreed to get cookie dough. My sister ordered the Every Day is Your Bday in a bowl, and the lady rudely corrected her to cup, saying that a bowl would be ‘way too big’. When my sister got her ice cream, it had graham cracker dust on it, which was not listed on the menu. She is gluten intolerant, and although she doesn’t have celiac, someone with celiac could unknowingly eat the ice cream and get very sick. She also found hair in her food.

Overall, not a good experience. Employee was overall rude, and ate her lunch in front of the counter for everyone to see. Would only consider coming back if customer service was nicer and all ingredients were actually listed...

I wanted to check the other reviews, but I guess I’ll be the first to say it. If you were like me dying to get this bae.. Girl just go to Andy’s. First, damn near every pic on instagram is FALSE advertisement. 🤣 they do not have those ice cream creations at the actual location. The girl that prepared my ordered advised me those were from the plaza, so basically you get a old school “pull down” ice cream machine van or choco, ube and matcha. I have to give it to their marketing team for boosting their IG page because honey.. who’s bae is this??!? Baskin robins or Andy’s tops this any day. The ice cream here is just cute, not something to run to Leawood for! Be prepared to be let down when you arrive, they don’t have macaron ice cream sandwiches, black ice cream, black cones, out of mint, etc. see where I’m going with this?!? And there’s no curb appeal inside, I do not need to see all the cereal crumbs all Over...
