The Ice at Park Place is a great place to go ice skating in Leawood, Kansas. It is an outdoor rink that is open from mid-November to February 28th. The rink is located in the Park Place shopping center, so there are plenty of restaurants and shops to explore before or after your skating session.
The Ice at Park Place is a great place for all ages. There are lessons available for beginners, and the staff is very helpful. The rink is also a great place for families. There is a small warming house with a snack bar, and there are plenty of benches to sit on.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe holiday decorations are spectacular at night. The skating rink between 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm was so packed it was dangerous. One skater fell and hit me in the head with his hand. I do not recommend families and older skaters like me at this time. The rink is oval however kids and teenagers were drag racing north to south in a straight line at full speed cutting across in front of novice skaters barely missing them. I saw about 5 people fall trying to avoid these fast skaters. In fact, one of the kids after racing went over and looked down on one of the adults lying supine on the ice to see if he was ok. There was no staff during most of this time and when one did arrive it seemed these people were his friends and one racer might have even been off duty. Although the staff was polite when you had to deal with them but it didn't seem like anyone was in an authority position. My advice is if you want to watch spectacular drag racing with people falling around them and amazing hockey stops on a dime with ice flying this is the place to be but if you want a nice relaxing skate go somewhere else or maybe at a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was awful. I manage a skating rink so maybe my standards are too high. Where to begin.... The skate guards paid no attention to the rink which was impressive because it's so small that failing to notice what's going on is quite a feat. The skate guards were in everyone's way, skating the length of the rink in the very center and trying to determine which of them could j stop and spray the farthest. The music was top 40 but it wasn't radio edit. The third song dropped the F bomb in the chorus. Guests who hadn't tied their skates properly were struggling and the guards said nothing. There was one child who clearly had no idea what he was doing. The guards offered no instruction. There was a less than delightful sewer smell. The rental skates were surprisingly very nice. The staff, the limited space, the smell, the music, everything else....awful. There was one girl working who actually looked like she was doing her job, but only one of like seven people wearing staff...
