Chartroose Caboose — Restaurant in Overland Park

I'm in my 30s and I've been coming here since I was in grade school.

I'm so saddened by how bad the service has gotten. This last time, my partner and I ordered carryout, we didn't receive the au jus that we paid for, one of the sandwiches was missing the jalapeños that we paid for, and that same sandwich, was SOAKED. So soggy, in a very consentrated section, it was inedible. I understand having some extra juicy meat, but this looked like they had just literally dipped 1/4 of the sandwich in a full sink.

I had been so excited to share a staple of my childhood with my partner, and this was beyond disappointing.

The owner getting on here and trying to argue with people about their experience, instead of offering an apology and something to make folks want to give them a second chance... Definitely not doing them any favors. So unprofessional and just flat out immature. I would be embarrassed to be employed there for that behavior alone.

You all want people to "support local business", you're going to have to give us a reason. There are plenty of local restaurants in Kansas City that people can spend their money at instead of one with poor service and...

The location seemed a little difficult to find. I I’m not trying to be negative, just honest. When we arrived we didn’t know which front door to use. One door had a white piece of paper on the glass. The other door opened and a man exited with a bag of trash. We proceeded through door on the right side and were immediately greeted with two trash cans. The restaurant was very drab and needs some attention, like it was lost in time. I can’t say too much about the service because we only encountered an order taker. We filled our cups, chose a table, pumped our own ketchup, and got napkins. We returned to the counter when we saw a tray of food there and was told it was ours. The food was hot and tasty. The fries and tots were crispy. The bread was dry and looked like it was heated on the grill. We disposed of our trash on the way out and placed our trays and baskets on the shelf. A man retrieved them before we could get out the door. An adult and a kids meal was...

Probably will never go back here. Went in to pick up a carry out order, ordered online. It was a pretty simple order. 4 sandwiches, a couple upgrades on them. Then I ordered an extra fry while I waited. The extra fry and drinks were about the only thing right (hard yo mess up fries, drinks only right because I made them). A cheeseburger, and a Philly both missing cheese. 2 fries were not bacon and cheese fries like ordered. One sandwich was completely wrong and missing au ju sauce as well. I'm not sure who was in charge of putting the orders together but there was 2-3 people putting things in the bag and pulling them out. I paid extra for things and didn't get them as well as I tipped them. Called to tell them what happened and was asked if I could come back. On my lunch break so I cannot. Was offered a 25% discount next time I go in. 25% off my next bill doesn't cover all the extra I paid. Very disappointed about this. Especially since receipt was sitting...
