It's ok. An older hotel that may have undergone a face-lift in the past few years. Staff is unfriendly. From the moment I called to ask if u could check in early until the moment I told the desk I was checking out early. As soon as I walked in to the room, I almost turned around and walked out. It's GROSS.
Positives: * Close to a Walmart Neighborhood Market, where I purchased fruit for dinner. * There is an outdoor pool, which is almost unheard of today. * Gorgeous property with trees, flowers and grass.
Negatives: * Tried to check in early, was told room wasn't ready. Ok, no problem. * Checked in online using Hilton's mobile app. Advised I would be arriving at 3 pm. When I arrived, my room still wasn't ready to be occupied. No biggie, moved to a different room. * This place is dirty..dirty, dirty, dirty. Hotels like this are the reason I rarely choose Hampton Inn. The carpet in the room is so nasty (yes, I'm still here) that you MUST wear shoes in the room. The bathtub looks as though it hasn't been cleaned ever. I will be laying a towel in the tub as I shower. The faucet on the sink and the mirror still have toothpaste on them . A lamp is falling off the wall and although I hope the walls were painted yellow, I believe it may be from previous cigarette smokers in this room when smoking g inside was available. * Room smells of stale cigarette smoke and mildew. * The breakfast area is dirty and unkempt. * There is a tortilla laying on the floor of the elevator that has been there since 3pm yesterday. Has NO employee seen this to pick it up so guests don't have to continue to look at it? * Did I mention the desk staff is not polite but seem to act as though you are bothering them?
I'm driving to another city to switch hotels, that's how bad I feel...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery clean, friendly staff, room was at a comfortable temperature upon check-in. Refrigerator worked well. Worth every penny. I had stayed at the Shawnee-Mission location the previous two nights and was surprised that location only served breakfast until 9am, but this one served until 10am like 99% of the Hampton Inns weāve stayed in. The beds are always very comfortable, plenty of pillows & towels were provided, I felt safe, and the food selection good whether you want to sit and relax while you enjoy your breakfast (eggs, sausage, cereals, juices, yogurt, waffle makerā¦this location has TWO waffle makers so you donāt have to wait as long for your turn!) or grab something quick (bagel w/cream cheese, yogurt, fresh fruit) as you head out the door. Compared to the location Iād stayed at the previous two nights, this location was much more Covid-cautious if that is helpful to anyone reading this. Foods were individually wrapped, each slice of bread was in a ziploc baggie, bagels were individually (commercially) packaged, danishes were Saran-wrapped, etc. Some of it seemed like a bit of overkill and maybe itās a different county mandate or just the managerās preference, but the difference between the two locations was really big considering how close they are to each other. (And I did still appreciate the effort to make Covid-conscious people feel safer.) Overall, it was an excellent experience and I would definitely stay in this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came in at 3:17 pm. There was a large group in front of us which is fine. We waited until 3:25 to be checked in. We were given a room on the 3rd floor. When we specifically asked to be on the 1st floor. 8 weeks ago when we made the reservation. I was told multiple times that we would have one within the last few weeks as well. Then I was told he would try to accommodate us. So i stepped to the side. I waited another 25 mins in line. As the gentleman at the counter said to let him check in the people that were there. Which is fine. But why should i wait an hour to get a room i already asked for specifically when you did not honor your accommodations. When I to the counter he said can I help you like he had no idea what was wrong. When I had been standing in front if him in the lobby the whole time. While I was waiting the second time the group that came in and checked in before us the first time. came back down and exchanged there 3rd floor room for a first floor room. Huh but told us he didn't have any available. Then the couple that was in between Me and them while I waited the second time. Checked in with the app and got a 1st floor room. This is ridiculous. We are not asking for pleasure it is for walking restrictions of a hotel guest. Also while I was waiting to check in there was multiple other customers who also were having issues with them accommodating them accordingly with...
