I purchases two reclining chairs from Overland Park KS store. Paid $ 400 extra for up graded more supportive cushion. Came in with regular cushion wanted to return or chang it to the way we PAID FOR They told us we signed contract that custom made funiture is not returnable. SO DON’T BUY CUSTOM MADE FUNITURE FROM HERE !!! YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RETURN EVEN THEY ARE NOT HOW YOU ORDERED OR FALLING A PART LESS THAN A MONTH !! We paid extra $400 more for better support and these chairs are not ! Arm rest started to fall to the side less than a month ! Told them and they said we signed when we got delivered so it’s on the contract !! Again ..... !! I told them how did we know it is going to fall a part less than a month??? My grandmother in-law bought chairs from lazy boy 30 years ago and arm rest not falling a part yet !!! They will tell you call here and there. Back and force. Nobody helps you. All they say is technichan has to come out and check witch we have to wait for 2months ! If technishan says we have problem they will fix it IN MY LIVING ROOM ..... but this chairs are not the way we ordered so how ??? Why don’t they just say sorry and make another one ? When I called the Overland Park store the guy whom I talk to he said I’m wasting his time and my time then hung up on me. I was on the phone less than 5 min.... They have the worst customer service I have ever received! I can not blieve they refuse to exchange !! Those chairs are not what we ordered and paid for. This company is a fraud!! I wouldn’t surprise if this company is going out business soon. So I wouldn’t extend warranty be careful! I have read other reviews from other reviewing site and so many people have same problem !! Some people said they are seeking law suit. I wish I read those !! I have never wrote a review in my life but they were so bad that I had to sighn up google to write this review!! I will not recommend to buy anything from Lazy boy !! If you do you will stuck with crappy expensive furniture and they will not take...
Read moreDO NOT BUY from here! I spent good money on a couch and love seat. They are comfortable but when they were delivered I found and instant flaw on the side of the couch. A bulge that sticks out and there is something hard behind it. I voiced this concern the same day as delivery, along with the legs not being the color I like. There are two color options for legs on my couch and they said I need to pay additional money to swap out the legs. Absolutely ridiculous after the money and time I have wasted to get something. I could go to any other furniture store and spend this kind of money and return if I'm not satisfied with NO HASSEL. With Lazy Boy, everything is "special order" therefor that's how they get you!! NO RETURNS. I warn you, do not buy from here.
Oh and even better, I waited 7 weeks for my couch and it was delivered with a defect. Guess when they can get a technician out to "look" at the defect? 4 more weeks!!!! Only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because the couch is comfortable. But for that kind of money, I can find comfort and better customer service elsewhere.
Update - they scheduled my technician to come look at the defect on my couch for today 9/20, they called for 30 min window and i was home (took off work to be here). They tech "shows up" at 12:14 and I didnt hear the bell. They call and say he can only wait 10 min. I call the number back at 12:20 (6 min later not 10) they say they cant get ahold of him. I've now waited on hold for over 45 min and a customer service rep answers, i ask for a manager and she says they arent available and ask that i speak to her. I explain the situation and then she doesnt say anything and puts me back on hold!!!! This is absolutely RIDICULOUS!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE THEY ARE CROOKS!
Update - I had to call the store because no one has contacted me about the service call on the defect. The picture below is the defect my couch had when it was delivered. They sent a technician out and they say this is up to code and they will...
Read moreThey asked us if we wanted the extended warranty. I told my wife it was a scam because they always figure a way out of the warranty or a way to make it extremely inconvenient for the customer. My wife didn't listen to me because she never does on these issues. You thought she would have learned her lesson with extended warranty from Honda that we got that was just money down the drain, but she still has optimism of large corporations doing things the right way. Anyway, I'm hoping this is the final issue that makes her realize that extended warranties are just a scam to extract as much money as possible without any real commitment by the issuing company to honor the warranty.
We purchased a couch and two powered recliners connected by a storage area. Against my advice, my wife decided to purchase the most comprehensive warranty they offered which was good for 5 years and set us back and additional $500. This was a no-hassle warranty provided by La-Z-Boy, not the store itself. We were told it was enforceable at La-Z-Boy locations nationwide.
After a few months, one of our recliners stopped working correctly with regular use. As a matter of fact, it is the least used recliner of the four (it was the end recliner on the couch). I told my wife to call and make use of the ridiculously expensive warranty, but she never called unto we moved to another state. After finally calling La-Z-Boy, guess what she was told: the local La-Z-Boy said the warranty was only good through the store we purchased it from (about 9-10 hours away), but the store we purchased it from says the local store is supposed to fix it under the warranty. So guess what: I am up to two recliners that don't work properly, a console that stopped working properly, and a useless $500 warranty. Thanks, La-Z-Boy, for being everything I warned my wife you were. $500 isn't worth being right, but I guess...
