Sapling Grove Park — Attraction in Overland Park

Excellent little park just off of Grant St in Overland Park. The park was remodeled in 2017 is really looks nice. There is a walking path and bridge to explore for the more adventurous older kids. The little creek is fun to explore also. The bathrooms as mentioned before have been remodeled and are in very good shape. The picnic area is in a covered area and can be booked for events. The playground area has some really unique play equipment is and geared towards younger kids who will find hours of playtime here. There is also a small spray park area that is operation during summer hours. The parking lot is a little small but this park is kind of hidden near a neighborhood and school, so parking might not be an issue as you can easily park at the school...

I visited the park with a friend to celebrate their daughter's birthday. The park was very tidy and the playground equipment was in great shape. The kids had a blast running through the water fountain area and playing on the swing (definitely their favorite parts). It was also nice having a grill available to make food and everyone left tired, full, and happy. We didn't even know the park was there until looking on maps since it's tucked away in the neighborhood. But certainly worth going to if you're nearby...

The playground was tiny but the kids (ranging in age from 22mo-6) still enjoyed it. There is a tiny splash pad connected to it and a shelter. It is small enough that you can be in one place and see everyone. There is also a creek you can wade in. The climb to get down is very rocky and younger kids will need help.
