Hypertech Computers Inc provided the best experience that I have ever had in a computer related store. Period.
I will not waste time criticizing any of the larger "conglomerate" type retail stores that have separate departments/groups "supposedly" devoted to helping people fix and/or upgrade their computers, answer questions, give advice about how use/operate them, et al. Critical comments relating to those entities overall inabilities, indifference, and just poor overall customer service ... and even some digital incompetence ... would consume too much space.
Hypertech Computers, on the other hand, personally walked me through the process of the transition of my laptop from Microsoft Windows 10 to 11. My laptop was supposedly one of those Windows 10 computers that Microsoft informed me was not capable of downloading Windows 11. So I initially went to one of those "conglomerates" mentioned above and their only answer was to buy a new Windows 11 computer, let their nerd department transfer data from to it from my 7-year old Windows 10 laptop and lose some my software that would not be able to function under Windows 11. The tech expert at Hypertech, on the other hand, was so much more knowledgeable and helpful in finding a solution ... he knew immediately what to do and how to do it ... like a technology genius ... even though he walked thru the process with me in "layman's terms" and was so kind, caring and interested in resolving my issue. His genius may also be evidenced also by the "tenure" of his store ... open since 1988.
Basically, he cleaned up the hard drive on my old laptop, then cloned it over to a "higher terabyte" SSD drive (so the software that I was afraid of losing could be retained), added RAM and Windows 11 and ... bada bing ... my "Windows 11 ized" laptop was now faster, retained all my old software (very important to me), and the computer screen even looked almost identical to what I had customized my Windows 10 computer to look like.
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to mention individual names in these reviews, but his first name begins with "V" and is a fantastic individual. Thank you V. You are my permanent source for computer help. 5 STARS...
Read moreMy samsung galaxy s5 had stopped charging and i figured paying 70 bucks to have these guys replace a part would be plenty good and id have my phone working again, so i had my girlfriend drop it off and all seemed well, she went back to pick it up a few days later and the battery was at 15 percent, plugged it in and it still did not charge... and a portion of the screen had stopped working, i had no screen issues beforehand mind you, so i had her bring it back to them and the girl told it was her fault she should have doublechecked that everything was in working order before giving it back, i figured no biggy just fix it, ive already paid for the service i can wait its not a big rush, well they called my girlfreind saying the phone is charging but the screen is unfortunately nothing they can fix as its not something they can say for sure was working in the first place but offered a new screen for an extra 120 something bucks, i figure.. your an electronics repair store, checking on things should be in your best interest to do before ripping apart a phone, also handling said electronics and business should be done as what the service agreement was and is, well i finally got my girlfriend to pick up the phone after a few weeks and now instead of small portions of the screen being out.... more than half the screen is out with an almost perfect line where it stops working, do not go to this shop, they will rip you off, its a con, and its unfortunate the manager of the place wont pay for the mistakes his untrained employees make, now ill have to do the repair work, not something i wanted to do but i cant keep getting scammed for such easy work. DO NOT GO TO THIS CON ARTISTS SHOP YOU HAVE...
Read moreYears ago I was a computer geek. I was 17 in 1996 when I got hired on at Delta Data Dimensions, tiny company that would do about any computer work you needed done, but they were making the bulk of their business converting old Paradox databases over to one of the modern database systems, usually MS Access.
When we needed parts or cables, the boss sent me over to Hypertech to get what we needed, and I have been hooked ever since.
Used or new, their prices are great.
The owner of DDD closed up shop at some point, and my career and hobbies both strayed away from doing much more serious computer work than tinkering around. So, in 2020 when I wanted a custom PC, I priced out the parts from NewEgg, Amazon, and the like... and then I called Hypertech. They would build my PC (and frankly do a better job of it than I would) for less money than I could get the parts for, retail.
I have been quite happy with the performance of the system they put together for me, and this week took it in for a cleaning and to put a larger SSD in.
Could I have dusted my own computer and managed something as simple as installing an additional drive? Absolutely. Did Hypertech do it at such a reasonable price that I would rather pass it off to them than do it myself? Also yes.
Some of my nerd-friends that never strayed from the path were singing the praises of Hypertech when I mentioned them last, confirming my deeply held belief that they are legit the best around.
