We come from Reno NV and completed almost all of the escape rooms in Reno-Sparks, a few in Utah and also just recently completed a room in Missouri and yet we have never seen a room like these ones here. We completed the Beasley one first and it was fun, but the Pyramid was a huge disappointment! It was the most poorly thought out room. It was almost like there was no way to actually figure out what to do unless they told you the next step and even the directions on one part of it was super confusing. We asked for one clue but then they continued to type hints and guide us through when we didn't ask for it. (No rooms we have ever done had monitors for communication) It felt almost like a game of how well can you read directions rather then use your own brain and clues in the room to figure out whats next. We didnt even get 3 min in on something before they were giving more hints. And never before have we had someone come into our room to help us! (Because their sticker pictures looked identical with legit one tiny difference, which they could have just told us on the screen they were using the whole time) In ALL the rooms we have completed before we only ever needed 1 maybe 2 hints and some rooms we didnt beat because they were truly tough. Also in most rooms puzzles are only solved/used once so we were completely confused there as well. That and they gave us an extra few minutes toward the end to what "help us" feel like we won. That's a complete disappointment. Not to sound rude but I'd rather just lose then have someone hold my hand and give then me a participation trophy. The staff is always great and super nice and Beasleys was fun (also had more hints then we asked for tho) but this room in particular did not sit well with us. Needless to say we probably won't go back for the other...
Read moreWe looked at other places before picking Tick Tock and no reviews were as good. We took the chance and don't regret it one bit. We brought our 15yr old for his birthday. We had 5 in total in our group. My husband, mother, 9yr old and 15yr old. We called in advance to book the room which I am glad we did because it got busy fast. We reserved the Pyramid Paradox room. Absolutely brilliant and very well done and thought out. Every one of us got involved some how even our 9yr old. This is for sure a group effort. There is something for everyone to do. The GameMaster was very informative before the game started. He was witty and a great host! This was our first time and we all were hesitant on how it was going to be but we had so much fun we will be back to Escape another room! Hopefully with more than 4 seconds to left to spare next time haha. Thankyou for a great time and for making my son's birthday a fun experience and a great time for all of us!! Here's a few tips: Don't worry about the bathroom, you can exit anytime without interrupting the game or time. Everyone will have something to do. You can't take pics inside the room but you can out in the hall and they actually have a backdrop you can take pics. There is no food or drinks to buy from what we saw. You need to plan to be there for at least 2 hours. Between pics, bathroom, GameMaster presentation before game starts, pics after. Parking is right in front of building. Good Luck...
Read moreThere were multiple things wrong with our visit today. To start, the room itself (Pyramid Paradox B) had major flaws in it. There were pieces that had to go in a specific order with no indication of what the order was. There was a puzzle with mirrors and lights, where the two stand-alone mirrors that were not aligned properly so someone had to hold them in the right place, despite the fact that it was designed to not need that. And there was a math puzzle that gave no indication how to solve with thousands of possible combinations to try- at the very least they should have put some indication as another clue in the room. Aside from the problems with the room itself, our experience with the host was horrible. Prior to starting I asked the host to not give us any hints we don't ask for, as that tends to be a problem with escape rooms. However during the experience they had constant hints typed out underneath our timer so there was no way to avoid seeing them. Many times during the hour they made a "pst" sound in the speakers to draw our attention to the unsolicited hints on the screen, and at multiple points they even triggered flashing lights to draw us to what was 'suppose' to be the next step- usually while we were still exploring new things in the room. Overall this was a horrible experience. I will not be returning and I will be recommending to everyone that asks to not go here for the...
