WARNING: DO NOT GO TO SH$TTY STEVENSON UNIVERSITY. This school sucks and unsafe too. They just want money, they don't care about students. There are extremely violent students at campus, and many are also arrogant, snooty, self absorbed and stuck up and they act like they see no fear in the world, most students act like they are supposed to be entitled to something and most skip class and start trouble. Professors don't care about you either, just regard you as a number. The school uses tuition money just to improve their flat screen tv's and sports teams, nothing else, they don't care about students at all. They fool students because just paying for the name, not for anything else. And just like at any college, bullying and fights happen too, that doesn't just happen in elem, middle and high school, it happens in college too. Many rude stuck up students there too. And just about all the students who attend here eventually end up going into a lot of debt and financial struggles. Just because it's called SU, doesn't mean it's great because it isn't. Being honest.
Ignore all the fake positive reviews lying saying they "love it at su", those reviews just written by su employees, not by actual people...
Read moreI just moved my baby girl in for her freshmen year and I love the spacious clean, and modern looking dorms. The school is very quiet.
Update 10/5/25: Well, its been almost 2mos since move in and my daughter is loving her time in school. She has quickly made friends but some of that is due to her being on the danceline of the marching band and meeting her roommate and one of her suitemates before school started. Attending the "welcome accepted students" events and orientation is a great way to make friends before starting school. And getting engaged in the different activities helps a lot too. My daughter had a great group of friends before band camp was over.
Because Stevenson is not a party school, they do a great job of bringing the fun to the students. They even offer bus trips like Field of Screams in PA. Day trips to places like NYC, and Bush Gardens.
The kids seem very comfortable in their dorms, they also seem to enjoy the north campus dining halls more than the main one in Rockland Center, and my daughter is enjoying her classes so far. I particularly enjoy the small classroom sizes. I definitely feel we found the right fit for my...
Read moreI have been a student at Stevenson for the past two years and will be a student for the next two years to come! Before being enrolled at Stevenson, all of my experiences had been positive. When it came to applying, the turnaround time for the application was faster than any other school I had applied to, and my admission counselor was extremely helpful in answering all of my questions concerning transfer credits and scholarships. I am currently in the nursing program, and it has been a wonderful experience! They do a great job preparing you for going into clinicals and knowing what to expect with the workload/time commitment. Academics aside, I love the campus. I feel like there are so many great study spots on campus and many food options, so I rarely find myself getting bored with the food on campus. If I did have to give a complaint, it would be that I wish some of the study spots were open longer and did not close so early as it can make it so the late-night study spots can become more full, especially during...
