Revised Review as of 12/1-12/3/23 visit: They put the Breeze in Sea Breeze Inn This visit started off with strong communication from site via email and text, especially wanting to know arrival times and if pets were coming. We were able to communicate quite freely and had many questions answered prior to arrival. Arrival was smooth and the office staff was on site this trip and we're very helpful and cordial. We had a later arrival time due to travelling in after work. Dropped family off and had to attend a conference at Asilomar where I received a text from the family at about 830 pm that the windows was missing in the bathroom. Literally not there! And of course, by that time, the office staff always no longer on site...so I texted whomever was contacting me earlier about arrival times and pets...no response. Actually, I'm still waiting almost a month later. So, I had to McGuyver a solution thinking that there would a response in the morning. Nothing! Reported to the office staff in the morning and he was surprised and thankful to learn this. I was at a conference, so checked later in the day to see if it was fixed, and there was still a missing window. Caught the office staff out turning on a fire pit and enquired and was told that maintenance was busy on another site and could not make the repair. So, they offered another room, right? NO! We had to stay in a very drafty room another night. But, we were awoken at 7:45 am by a hammer drill being used somewhere on the property on our final morning. No notice. Obviously maintenance, but what the heck?? We do love this place, but how does housekeeping, site maintenance, office staff, and ownership allow paying customers to stay in a room with no window in December? Yeah, yeah, inversion layer and all that, but it was still in the low 50s. And then...to not offer another room, maybe a discount, anything to offset this issue was extremely poor form. Office staff should be trained or coached to handle these issues, but we're not...or, maybe it was just plain old greed from ownership and they don't care if I return. I'd love for someone to finally reach out, but the best I can do is warn others not to make our mistakes and avoid the Sea Breeze Inn. And ownership, you have my contact info. Reach out so I can update this for your resolution... ------------------------------------------- Dec 2021 - First off, want to commend the cleaning staff for their prompt and helpfulness, as they were the only staff on site at check in or check out. Email confirmations we're great after making reservation and the day prior to our stay. The emails did not explain that the office is closed for remodeling OR that we had to go to an alternative site to get the room key. They checked the day of to see if we were bringing a pet, but neglect d this little bit of info. Minis a star for poor management forethought. At the other site, our check-in went smooth, quick, and handled by a very busy and polite young man. Rooms are small, a bit primaries, but well organized. Beds were clean, but a bit lumpy. Showers were hot, even being the second shower. Only negative would be sharing a common wall, especially with people who talk on phones like they are using two tin cans connected with string. We heard every conversation in the room next to us. We would come back, but get a single bungalow instead of the connected one. Great location, walking distance to Point Pinot lighthouse, PG golf course, Asilomar beach, and the Monarch Butterfly sanctuary.

BEWARE - We paid for a 2 night stay for a room that we could not use. NO REFUND!

My wife booked a room on 9/12/2021 for 2 nights at the Sea Breeze Inn. We are retired and live on a fixed income. We traveled to California to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary and attend a funeral for a family member. My wife has had knee replacement done on both knees, which makes it difficult for her to climb up and down stairs, so we always call a hotel before we book a room to verify that either the hotel has an elevator or that our room is on the first floor. We also always choose a room that has either 2 queen beds or a king bed.

We were billed on 9/21/2021 for the full amount of a 2 night stay the day before we arrived. When we arrived on 9/22/2021 we were given a room with 1 queen bed. We told the person on duty that we had made a reservation for a room with 2 queen beds. We then were informed that all ground level rooms with 2 queen beds were filled. All that was available was an upstairs room with 2 queen beds but only for one night. The hotel does not have an elevator. We were willing to take a room at another property owned by the same company, but nothing was available. The manager was called by the clerk on duty and the manager falsely claimed that we had made a reservation online which showed that we booked a room with only 1 queen bed. The reservation confirmation showed that we had reserved a “Queen Cottage Deluxe.” No description of how many beds were in the room was included in the confirmation. So, we thought that we would have 2 queen beds. We decided that we could not stay at the Sea Breeze Inn and since our card had already been charged, we asked for a refund. The clerk on duty said that he could not issue a refund and told us to come back the following day and talk to the manager.

We returned the following day and the manager refused to issue a refund. He told us that we had to talk to the clerk who had booked the room, who was not working that day. The manager stated that if the booking clerk recommended that we be given a refund that he would do it. So, we returned again the next day 9/24/2021 and talked with the clerk who booked the room. He stated that he would recommend that a refund be issued. No refund has been given as of 10/1/2021.

Never before in all of our travels, have we paid for a room that we could not use because the hotel could not...

I really wanted to like this place. The rates seemed reasonable, they are walking distance from the beach and dog friendly. However we booked a Queen Cottage Deluxe, it was supposed to have a fireplace and kitchenette. The day of our check in we called before noon as they requested because they wanted to confirm we were bringing a dog and it's size so they "could prepare the room." We arrived a little before 6pm, after a long drive to check in. We paid for a small dog but because our dog was 5 pounds over we needed to pay $20 for the medium dog fee. Not a big deal and we were so excited for the amenities we did not make a fuss. Dan the man at the front desk was very helpful and kind, so we thought we had nothing to worry about. However when we arrived to our room it was not at all what we paid for. It was not a cottage, in fact per their website it was a room that did not allow dogs and did not offer anything that we paid extra for (fireplace, kitchenette) Assuming it was an error we went back and showed Dan our reservation and he said that they were booked for the rooms we paid for and this was all he had to offer and they could not offer a refund, and could only move us the following day to the room we reserved and paid for. For such a short stay it was such a disappointment. We somehow paid more for less. We could not enjoy our time here, could have paid less somewhere else for the same room and felt completely taken advantage of, because they would not refund us for giving us less than we paid for. In fact when Dan called the manager, the manager said "we'll what do they want? We can't give them a room, and it's not like they can just stay the night for free." I do not blame Dan at all. He offered a bottle of wine for our trouble. He was so friendly. While I appreciate him, it was clear it was beyond his control but the manager, the business or whoever is responsible for policy and taking care of their customers, was really rude and careless. We had already paid and were essentially stuck here. We would not have come all the way here or at the very least we would have tried to book a different weekend or book with someone else. There are plenty of places near by to stay and I wouldn't suggest staying here but if you do just book the cheapest room because apparently you are subject to staying there no matter what. We...
