I stayed on August 16-18 2022. I booked a king deluxe based on the photo. My room was nothing like the photo. The photo had a lovely pine ceiling. This room did not have that pine ceiling . It's also stuffy inside and I didn't feel comfortable opening the windows because they have a lot of foot traffic. The bed was comfortable and they had a nice table to eat on as well as a mini fridge and microwave. The first night they didn't have bar soap to wash your hands with. I thought maybe they didn't provide it , but when my room was cleaned suddenly I had bar soap. The rooms are so close together that you can hear the person walking in the room nextdoor. The bathrooms are small. You can barely fit through the doorway because the toilet is between the door and the entrance You can't even open the bathroom window as cars are parked right up to your window. The walls were chipped and the doors were dirty. They give you a nice bag with waters and snacks but at the very least they should have coffee later than 10:00 am since they don't offer breakfast. It's standard for most places to offer coffee from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. Most hotels offer 24 hour courtesy coffee. It felt like they didn't care about the customer I might as well have stayed in a motel 8. They are not customer oriented. The front desk was not friendly when I walked in to grab a cup of coffee. They were more interested in if I was checking out when it was not even check out time. The gentleman that was in there to grab a cup of coffee complained and said the coffee container was empty and he barely got a half a cup. It just felt like they do bare minimum. It was pricy to stay. I paid in the mid hundreds for two nights and it was not worth it. The biggest disappointment was the room did not look anything remotely like the photo and I feel that is deceptive. I wanted a cozy amostphere and it was a huge let down. I will not come back for another stay. I felt I...
Read moreDo not stay at this hotel... Especially if the weather is expected to be even a little cold. Horrible customer service and very mean staff. My wife and I woke up in the middle of our first night to very hot air pouring out of a vent in our room. I looked for a thermostat but there wasn't one. I tried calling maintenance to get it turned off, but there was no answer. I walked to the front desk, but there was no one there and no emergency number posted. Actually there were no service numbers posted in our room or on the information we were given at check-in. Helpless, I tried opening windows but all were sealed shut. My new wife and I had to spend the night sweating without any sleep with our door wide open. We were on our Honeymoon but had to cancel most of our activities for the next day because we couldn't sleep until 10am when the heat finally shut off. Later that day when I explained what had happens to the staff, the owner told me it was my fault for not contacting them sooner because something was wrong with their central heating which heats all rooms in a building at once. When I said we would like to spend our next two night at another hotel and asked for a refund the owner got very mad and said that it was against their policy to give any money back to customers. The other room they offered was no better than the first one. I felt taken advantage of and was treated without any respect especially while traveling on my Honeymoon. The managers of this hotel are very rude and I advise anyone from staying here. We stayed at 2 Airbnbs on our trip and they were much much better...
Read moreThis is a wonderful family-oriented, value priced establishment. If you want high-end and glossy, keep looking, but if you want a clean, safe, quiet place to stay in Pacific Grove that stretches your dollars, stop now and book your room. We've stayed here twice and we couldn't be happier with our experience. Mostly recently we stayed in Room 18, which is a two-bedroom, two-bath suite. Perfect for our two boys (ages 11 and 14) and us. They had their privacy and we had ours. Each room had a brand-new flat-screen TV with Directv. The Wi-Fi is free. The rooms were exceptionally clean. There was a nice sized refrigerator to hold our snacks, a few bottles of Corona and a bottle or two of wine. We were within easy walking distance of the restaurants in Pacific Grove, Asilomar State Beach, Lovers Point and the trail along the ocean. Cannery Row is a lovely two mile walk or two minute drive (but who wants to deal with parking when you can walk!). Fisherman's Wharf is three miles. After a day of sightseeing, hiking or whatever makes you happy, come back here and relax by the pool and hot tub. The pool is heated and we swam in April! Sitting by the pool, all we heard was quiet broken by the birds singing. And the customer service is fabulous. The staff are friendly, helpful and responsive. Quick replies to my questions via email during the booking process! We'll be...
