Cute little park with bathroom access issues. Beside the bathroom issues, my only real problem is the people who use the park. Every time I take my kids here parents feed their kids at the nice shaded tables, then just leave their trash. Sandwich bags blown off the tables into the play ground. Half empty cups of ranch and bottles of juice left to tip over and spill all over. Today was fun. My 5 year old son brought me a bag that was hidden near the top of the slide. It was full of used juice bottles filled with piss. Then there was the homeless guy standing by the skate park area next to the playground. He was just staring at my kids while pretending to use an invisible smart phone. As soon as I called them away he scuttled around the back to the east end of the park. I work in downtown so it's nice to take my kids to that park on the way...
Read moreI have observed a few good skateboard athletes using the newly designed skateboard park here. It is at a convenient bus stop on the Palisade Route. Also the Veterans Park is centrally located within the Town of Palisade, easy to get to and does offer small venue fairs that support the economy. Park does have nice shade trees to take picnics to, small play area for children to enjoy playing on, and the building itself supports many indoor meals, such as the Grey Gourmet Meal site, can have both a funeral or wedding receptions in the basement as well as outside under the shade of the trees. Limited parking mainly for smaller venues, but can have on street parking limiting traffic flow around site. The place is also host to various veteran clubs that hold meetings here and limited seating for political rally's and town meetings...
Read moreVeterans memorial Park is home to many events throughout the year. In August they have the Palisade Lions club pancake breakfast, local parade and Peachy Run. Our friends drive over, from Colorado Springs, every year to partake of the delicious pancakes, fresh peaches, eggs and link sausage. The Palisade Peach Festival has grown grew so large that city determined it had to split it over two weekends in order to accommodate all of the visitors.
