Beautiful Basílica in Palm Beach County. We had the blessing to be part of the mass celebrated by Bishop Gerald M. Barbarito. A Votive Mass in honor of Saint Edward and designate the Holy Doors for this Year of Hope A great honor was bestowed upon St. Edward Catholic Church in Palm Beach on Dec. 13, 2024, when the church was elevated to the status of a minor basilica. The Vatican designates churches as basilicas because of their historical, spiritual and architectural significance. Basilicas have special privileges, including precedence over other churches. In this Year of Hope, basilicas, like diocesan cathedrals, are places of special pilgrimage and have specially designated Holy Doors in imitation of the Vatican basilica. Certain liturgical days associated with the papacy are celebrated with special care.

St. Edward Roman Catholic Church is a very beautiful church in Palm Beach, Florida. The church was established in 1926 by a visionary Jesuit priest, Father Felix Clarkson. Its structure reflects the Spanish Renaissance designs (with 2 towers and a Spanish tile roof). I would say that it reminds me the famous architect Addison Mizner (1872-1933), who built so many gorgeous houses and buildings in Palm Beach and in Boca Raton. The stained glass windows are also striking. At Christmas, the church looks magic. It is definitively my favorite church in South Florida!

Beautiful church of historical significance in the heart of Palm Beach. Stunning architecture in the Spanish Renaissiancr style with iconic interiors that reflect the Catholic Church traditions and rituals. The church is blessed with dedicated priests and an engaged parish of followers. View the website for daily visitation hours, masses and prayer studies. Rose Kennedy love this church as did her family when they were in residence in Palm Beach.

St. Edwards Roman Catholic Church is an architectural gem, offering a serene atmosphere for worship. During my visit on February 9, 2024, I was captivated by the beauty of the choral singing, which emanated from the choir loft situated at the back of the church above and behind the pews. While the melodies were enchanting, I found it challenging to see the choir without turning around in my seat.

As someone exploring different faith communities, I anticipated some unfamiliarity with the service structure. However, the sound system that day made it difficult to hear the speaker clearly. I moved closer to the front to better understand the sermon, but still missed portions of it. Additionally, the lack of air circulation made the environment quite warm, which affected my overall comfort.

For regular parishioners familiar with the service proceedings, St. Edwards's offers a beautiful space for worship. I hope the sound system and air conditioning issues are addressed to enhance the experience for...
