If you find yourself in Palm Beach for some reason (I don't recommend it overall, more on that later), this is a nice spot to stay.
The hotel itself is in a very old building that has seen some better days but the common areas are well maintained and the staff was friendly. Access felt secure and we overall felt safe here.
Valet parking was nice but they close in the evening so best be sure to get back in time or you're left to fend for yourself on the street.
The room was great. A few hiccups like some broken blinds and loose tiles here and there, but it was well appointed with a great shower and tons of little extras. From my understanding, the units are independently owned so your mileage may vary. Ours was awesome though!
The area was pretty decent and the building is about 3 blocks from beach access. Unfortunately the beach itself is not the best to begin with (rough and harshly angled) not to mention it closes at dusk, so no moonlit strolls through the surf. We were only here a day so that was extremely disappointing. Not to mention the entire island is basically just mansions and the highest-end shopping you can imagine. We are just average tourists and after having dinner at the one good french restaurant in town found ourselves at a loss for things to do.
I'd honestly never come back to Palm Beach unless I had a very specific reason to be there and even still I'd probably just stay in Ft. Lauderdale and drive up. If you measure your income in a dollar amount and don't have a net worth published in Forbes, you probably have little to no business being in Palm Beach unless you work in the...
Read moreLet me address the most common complaints before the rest: The “smell” and the parking.
Regards the smell: maybe it's because I'm European, but there is no murky smell at all! There is a slight smell of old wood which is VERY common in old buildings like this. It's definitely not a bad smell. Anyway, in the main hall and in the rooms the smell does not persist at all, so unless you spend hours walking in corridors I don't think it should bother you at all.
There are great parking valet services. We have a baby and we never run into issues with the valet, as they work from early morning to 11 pm so anyway we’re early enough to not worry about it. Overall flawless and convenient parking experience.
The building itself is a beautiful, well-preserved classic Floridan mansion. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms might be small in American standard but for us, Europeans, it's the standard size so no complaints. The kitchen is well-equipped, the AC working for good and the bed is comfortable.
The pool is heated and fun for the more indoor days, although it's a bit too cold for babies.
The location is GREAT, family friendly and laid back beach town. It was our style, but if you prefer more active and bustling areas it might not be the place for you.
Overall, a great experience in wallet-friendly prices. We’ll be back if we happen to...
Read moreStayed here for 3 nights and it was pretty decent experience except for the last night when I was stereotyped by some man who said he was on the board of the hotel. I am a content creator and he didn’t like me filming in the hallway (there was no one else there except me so I was not in anyone’s way). If I paid to stay there I have every right to take pictures. He was rude about it and made me feel like I was trespassing or some person off the street who just snuck in. His approach was uncalled for and rude and quite frankly I think he was racist. I have never accused anyone of this but this guy was because I felt it to my core and it is a very hurtful feeling. He also went and called security on me to come and interrogate me which made it worse even after I told him I was staying there. So since your management is so rude I give this 1 star because I had a good stay until this ruined everything. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!!! This experience has given me a lot of emotional distress and have never been so...
