⭐ Chik•Monk Coffee – Namast-ehhhh… no thanks. 🙄🧘♂️☕
Walked in expecting peaceful monk vibes and soul-awakening espresso. Walked out with caffeine-induced confusion and an existential crisis. 😵💫🧘♀️
The barista greeted me like I just interrupted their 14th-century tea ceremony. Sorry for wanting... a coffee? 😬☕
Ordered a “Zen Latte” and I swear it tasted like guilt and almond regret. 🥺🌰☠️ Not sure what bean this came from but I think it was grown on passive-aggressive soil and watered with sarcasm. 🌱💦💢
The decor? Think IKEA met a monastery and they had a minimalist baby with commitment issues. 🧘♂️🪑✨ And the music? Somewhere between forest whale sounds and someone whispering about their gluten allergy. 🐳🍃🔊
Tried to sit and “vibe,” but the chairs are clearly built for decorative monks, not actual humans with knees. 🪑🥴
Left $8 poorer, spiritually confused, and 10% more pretentious. Perfect if you want your coffee with a side of judgment and a sprinkle of enlightenment you didn’t ask...
Read moreWhat a find! I love small local coffee shops like this, and to find one that both grows and roasts their beans is very rare in my experience.
There's a smoothness to their coffee that you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere. Is it the shade-grown beans from the family farm in India? Their roasting? Who knows, but it's a delight.
Their iced lattes aren't watery or weak, they're perfection.
They have both sweet and savory "wrapped croissants", and we liked both of them.
Seating is very limited to just a couple of tables, but most people are likely taking their food treasures to the beach. That's because Chik Monk is easily walkable from the main (Sunset Ave.) entrance to Sunset Beach. That matters in Palm Beach because there are few (perhaps zero?) concessions or restaurants located directly on the beach.
Also, the owners are nice people.

Read moreAdd Chick Monk to your bucket list! I select my coffee shops based on who has whipped cream, and they usually do have it but unfortunately they didn’t have any this morning. They offered to make a sweetened foam for my latte and she added sprinkles of brown sugar and it was amazing. I can’t wait to try that at home. The coffee is grown on their family farm in India, and it was so smooth and delightful that I had to take a bag home with me😃. The owners were so pleasant and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience in their shop. Visiting Chik Monk is a testament to why I seek out locally owned small business shops. They also have freshly made pastries from a local French pastry chef; the almond croissant is delicious. If you want to start your day with friendly people and an outstanding coffee and pastry, stop...
